Sliwa, red beret and all, is within striking distance of frontrunners Mamdani and Cuomo, at 22%, and beating Adams handily in a four-man race, according to a recent Harris poll.
“You guys always say follow the numbers. In a four-way race, I have a path to victory because people actually like me and they have problems with the others,” Sliwa told me in an interview...
He’s back at it again and, according to the latest polls, has a shot.
While Sliwa trails in raising money — by a lot (having pulled in just $169,000 compared with $1.5 million for Adams in the latest reporting period), his style of in-person campaigning, not in the Hamptons like Cuomo but on subways and around the five boroughs, seems to be working...
He plans to return Midtown to a true business mecca through enhanced crime prevention and by ditching congestion pricing that is reducing retail foot traffic and hurting property values.
He will cut taxes and eliminate swaths of government, like the city’s education bureaucracy that does a horrible job educating kids and does a good job employing loads of bureaucrats.
“Big business is hedging its bets and moving to Florida, Texas, even Tennessee,” Sliwa said.
“It’s impossible to keep them from diversifying but you have to convince them to keep what they have by getting rid of the homeless and making sure women are safe from pervs in the subway when going to work.”...
Sliwa wanted to make clear he isn’t dropping out despite reports he might get a job in the Trump administration to narrow the field and prevent a Mamdani mayoralty.
“No one is going to bribe me from leaving the race,” he said.
In fact, he’s so committed, he pledged to put away his trademark red beret if elected.

The cheating by team Soros will be hard to overcome?
Which means now Mamdani is a shoo-in.
In a 4 way battle he’ll take votes away from anyone w common sense who wants anything but the dem favorite
Alisa has already run and lost
Adams has already served poorly
Ditto cuomo-disastrously. H
Sliwa’s like Cuomo: an ego which outgrew its owner’s usefulness.
Sliwa will never be Mayor. Ever.
Adams has already served poorly
More poorly than DiBlasio? Hardly, for me, he’s the least worst choice of the lot.
Which is absolutely wonderful. The Big Apple is rotten to the core and its death needs to be hastened and Mamdani is the perfect candidate to accomplish that.
It will become like London, under Sadiq Khan.

Not good.
Rot ALWAYS spreads.
The only way to deal with rot, or sometimes cancer, is to cut it out.
democrats already crawled through glass to vote against Cuomo. Cuomo need to get out of the race !!!
Reagan ran and lost to Ford in 1976.
Nixon ran and lost in 1960.
Reagan's an actor. He'll never be Governor President.
Jesse Ventura's a wrestler. He'll never be Governor.
Trump's a reality show star. He'll never be President.
AOC's a bartender. She'll never be a Congresswoman.
I agree!
Tragically, yes.
I never for a moment wavered from my firm belief Mamdani will win.
Although I never saw him in person, he has the charisma that means more than anything in politics. Trump is the winner of that today but JFK also had it.
In junior high I was able to see JFK run for President at a small enough shopping center rally that you could get close.
The shared feeling in the crowd was really something. As his open car passed me at the curb afterward I was about three feet away.
There was a magnetism abut JFK that I never found in the various candidates for office later (I have a political science degree).
“ More poorly than DiBlasio”
What?
Adams is running. De blasio is not
Quit wasting my time
Reagan was good. Sliwa is no Reagan. He’s not even a nixon
Ex-Gov. George Pataki claims NY’s top 3 Dems ‘hiding in the weeds’ on Mamdani support: ‘Where is the leadership?’

Not a Reagan? Not a Nixon?
Curtis Sliwa may be none of those things, but he is a New Yorker, and he has been in the belly of the beast.
Madmani may be charismatic, but he has never known a serious challenge in his life. He is an excellent front person, but he has no demonstrated skill set for governance of anything.
