Kinda wondering why some smart person hasn’t stepped into this fray. Why NOT have a grocery store in rough neighborhoods with armed guards, where you’re ‘wanded’ at the entrance for weapons and drugs, where German Shepherds roam the aisles, and cash only and EBT cards are accepted for, ‘THESE ITEMS ONLY?’ No Maine Lobster and Ribeye steaks for you, Parasite!

Cause that's expensive. Much easier and cheaper to simply do 100% curbside pickup. You pay for your list, and workers bring your cart out to your car. Very minimalized chances of customer theft, and it'd be easy enough to put safeguards to prevent excessive employee shrinkage. Plus there's no real option for vagabond or drug use - the building is closed off, you just have a driveway/drivethru. Employee parking behind a fence.
