Russian officials on Friday clapped back at a recently announced NATO deterrence plan that to looks to unite the alliance’s ground response capabilities, and has Moscow particularly worried about the vulnerabilities posed by its highly militarized exclave – Kaliningrad.
Warnings rang out from the halls of the Kremlin as one official warned that a deterrence strategy announced this week by U.S. Army Europe and Africa commander Gen. Christopher Donahue amounted to "a plan to unleash World War III with a subsequent global standoff [and] no winners."
"An attack on the Kaliningrad region will mean an attack on Russia, with all due retaliatory measures stipulated, among other things, by its nuclear doctrine," chairman of the Russian Parliamentary Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky told the East 2 West media outlet.

You completely misunderstood what is happening if you think that this is just some sort of border dispute. Putin has made it abundantly clear that his goal is the complete subjugation of the Ukrainian nation.Putin himself has stated that this will not end with just ceding a few provinces. He wants to control all of Ukraine. There is no excuse for ignoring this.
Nor are the Ukrainians interested in any bloody revenge on the Russians. They just want them to go home and leave Ukraine in peace. Once that were to happen, the Ukrainian guns would become silent.
Try as much as you can to create a moral equivalency between Russia and Ukraine, there is none. Russia has invaded a neighboring country and bombed its cities; Ukraine is fighting for its national survival.

Har har har. We’ve seen the posts here about punishing “traitors” and “collaborators” if the Ukraine ever got the stolen lands back. We’ve seen the grandiose maps posted here by Uke nationalists showing the Ukraine extending as far as the Don and into the Kuban. I’m sure if the shoe had been on the other foot, Ukraine would have done the same.
