I am sick of hfcs in everything.

This will save me probably $20 per year since mexi coke bottles are $2.25 each in my neighborhood, and I never ever drink hfcs coke.

Passover coke is not as good as the mexi coke cause we have co2 shortages or something

What's the difference between beet sugar and cane sugar? Is there a difference in taste?

I love the taste of Mexican coke (as well as coca-cola abroad which is cane sugar also, at least in Europe) — but I think the corn syrup kind is less acidic? Might be in my head - just wish there were less of it overall. I prefer the miniature cans when not in glass bottles.

Already have this...

But getting rid of HFCS is always a good thing.

Something to do with govt incentives.

Cane sugar is what high end confectioners prefer.

I’m cutting back on all sweeteners. Even artificial sweeteners reinforce my sweet tooth.

I hate Coke and never drink it. Hope those that do manage to stay healthy with RFK’s new rule.

it’s because HFCS (high fructose corn syrup, ad well as numerous other mainstay US ingredients and chemicals mind you.) banned for consumption in other countries…not sure about China though.

What’s the difference between beet sugar and cane sugar? Is there a difference in taste?

><
Both are 99.95%+ pure sucrose, indistinguishable at a molecular level in refined form.

Refined (White) Sugar: No discernible taste difference between beet and cane sugar due to identical sucrose content. Both are sweet with no distinct flavor profile.

Unrefined/Partially Refined: Cane sugar (e.g., turbinado, demerara) may retain molasses, giving a slight caramel or toffee flavor. Beet sugar is rarely sold unrefined, so it lacks this flavor.

I believe Cuba is a big sugar producer. Imagine if Trump can bring Cuba into the light and tear down communism there. Sugar, cigars, real estate. Huge opportunity on both sides. The whole Castro thing never worked out for them, so why not make a deal to do business with us?

sorry typos:

high fructose corn syrup as well as other numerous other ubiquitous ingredients and chemicals found in American foods/products are banned in most developed countries.

so their Heinz ketchup is also free of it as well. Even at McDonalds. It will be cane sugar.

i do not drink much sodapop but
for heaven’s sakes the HFCS needs to be OUT of our food chain, or at least reduced significantly

real sugar won’t turn CC into a health food but I would certainly prefer it, yes

re: “Classic Coke”

Coca-Cola in the U.S. began transitioning from cane sugar (sucrose) to high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in its Classic Coke formula in 1980. The switch was gradual, starting with a blend of sugar and HFCS. By 1984, the company had fully replaced cane sugar with HFCS-55 (55% fructose, 45% glucose) in its U.S. formula for Coca-Cola Classic, primarily due to cost savings from cheaper, subsidized corn and high sugar tariffs.

Louisiana’s sugar cane industry will benefit tremendously from this. I love the taste of fresh cut sugar cane here.

Cuba is why we switched to corn syrup. We lost our primary source of sugar and it became cheaper to use HCFS.
