But, don't laugh too hard.

Because, the best=selling car in America is not a Tesla. It's the Toyota Rav-4.

And when it comes to overall sales, EVs are still a very tiny fraction of cars in America. And the future doesn't look promising at all for all EVs.

In the US, about 1.4% of the total cars on the road are electric vehicles, according to Edmunds. This figure refers to fully electric vehicles, not including plug-in hybrids. If we include plug-in hybrids, the percentage rises to 9.7%.

In the US, Tesla's share of the electric vehicle (EV) market has recently fallen below 50%, according to The New York Times. This indicates that while Tesla remains a dominant force in the EV market, other automakers are increasing their presence and capturing a larger share of EV sales. Specifically, Tesla's market share in the US was reported to be 49%, with other manufacturers collectively holding 51%

So.......

If EVs are only a 'whopping' 1.4% of the market, and Teslas are less than 1/2 of EVs, that means that Tesla only has 0.7 percent of the car market. It's very easy to be the best seller of EVs if the overall market for EVs is virtually non-existent.

Not so funny after all, is it?
