Trump Announces 30 Percent Tariffs Against EU, Mexico

President Donald Trump on Saturday announced he's levying tariffs of 30% against the European Union and Mexico.

Trump announced the tariffs on two of the United States' biggest trade partners in letters posted to his social media account.

In his letter to Mexico's leader, Trump acknowledged that the country has been helpful in stemming the flow of undocumented migrants and fentanyl into the United States.

But he said the country has not done enough to stop North America from turning into a "Narco-Trafficking Playground."

Trump in his letter to the European Union said that the U.S. trade deficit was a national security threat.

"We have had years to discuss our Trading Relationship with The European Union, and we have concluded we must move away from these long-term, large, and persistent, Trade Deficits, engendered by your Tariff, and Non-Tariff, Policies, and Trade Barriers," Trump wrote in the letter to the EU. "Our relationship has been, unfortunately, far from Reciprocal."

Trump is in the midst of an announcement blitz of new tariffs with allies and foes alike, a bedrock of his 2024 campaign that he said would set the foundation for reviving a U.S. economy that he claims has been ripped off by other nations for decades.

With the reciprocal tariffs, Trump is effectively blowing up the rules governing world trade. For decades, the United States and most other countries abided by tariff rates set through a series of complex negotiations known as the Uruguay round. Countries could set their own tariffs – but under the "most favored nation" approach, they couldn’t charge one country more than they charged another.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Very Biased, Disinformational, Propaganda piece by the Associated Presstitutes.

President Trump's Tariffs will force foreign nations to play fair with America and Americans, or go without.

Since when has the deep state not approved of higher taxes, especially on business?

That will just about guarantee that Mexico will join BRICKS now. Russia and China will have to arm Mexico to protect themselves against the US.

Good, join the BRICS.
USMCA is about to expire and be re-negotiated.

All the manufacturing can be moved back to the US, or imports face steep tariffs

The interesting thing is that there was a federal budget surplus for. the first time in June. That has never happened before. It was attributed to higher tariffs. When the higher tariff kick in august—federal revenue from tariffs are going to balloon.

That means that there will be more months of federal revenue surpluses.

Here’s the kicker.

The stock market just made a golden cross. two year returns after golden crosses are about 43%. stock market profits bring huge revenues into federal coffers.

People talk about Newt Gingrich cutting the federal deficits to zero in 1998. What they don’t mention is that he was aided by massive federal revenues from the stock market profits that came because of that massive take off in the internet that came in those years.

What’s coming in the next five years is going to be even more more massive. the federal budget will balance in two years.

Maybe sooner because of massive revenues from tarriffs.

That was all of the 19th century when the USA was trying to protect its industry

The US started dropping tarriffs when US industry got so competitive they wanted to export.

To export they needed lower tarriffs.

All of these countries have tariffs and trade barricades discriminating against American goods. When writing these stories I would like to know what they are.

You raise valid points, Federal revenues should increase, and more of those revenues will be from Foreigners.

Some of this will go toward balancing the Federal Budget, however, I don't know how far it will go, or the years necessary to get there, if we ever do.

That's why I denigrate the Associated Presstitutes and Rooters Sewer Service routinely, they should tell us, and they never do.

People are tiring of “announced” tariffs, then retracts it and pushes it further into the future. People are taking the TACO jibe seriously...

Same for Bondi. Lots of talk, but no one is waiting trail for anything of any consequence. I had such high hopes for her, but all I see so far is fluff...
