Russia warns US, South Korea and Japan against forming security alliance targeting North Korea

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov flew to North Korea’s eastern Wonsan city on Friday for a meeting with his North Korean counterpart Choe Son Hui.

Relations between Russia and North Korea have been flourishing in recent years, with North Korea supplying troops and ammunitions to support Russia’s war against Ukraine in return for military and economic assistance. That has raised concerns among South Korea, the U.S. and others that Russia might also transfer to North Korea sensitive technologies that can increase the danger of its nuclear and missile programs.

After a meeting with Choe on Saturday, Lavrov accused the U.S., South Korea and Japan of what he called their military buildups around North Korea.

“We warn against exploiting these ties to build alliances directed against anyone, including North Korea and, of course, Russia,” he told reporters, according to Russia’s state Tass news agency.

The U.S., South Korea and Japan have been expanding or restoring their trilateral military exercises in response to North Korea’s advancing nuclear program. On Friday, the three countries held a joint air drill involving U.S. nuclear-capable bombers near the Korean Peninsula, as their top military officers met in Seoul and urged North Korea to cease all unlawful activities that threaten regional security.

“Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov flew to North Korea's eastern Wonsan city on Friday for a meeting with his North Korean counterpart Choe Son Hui.”

So it's one Hui meeting another Hui.

““We warn against exploiting these ties to build alliances directed against anyone, including North Korea and, of course, Russia,” he told reporters, according to Russia's state Tass news agency.”

That's a very stronk warning.

Or in 2022 when NATO CIA neocon war pigs attacked Russia. After installing the US bio labs in Ukraine. Poopers told me that.

My guess is sometime after 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed and NATO kept accepting country after country and getting closer to the Russian border. By now, it’s clear that NATO wasn’t being wholly defensive, but was actively expansionist.

If all of you 750 pro-Russians left this site for the Russian front line, FR would improve immediately.

Hunh. Offhand, that would then suggest that’s exactly what they should do.

That’s the way Russians think.

Anyplace that Russia has ever conquered is rightfully Russia’s, to quote Putin. And, Russia has been invading its neighbors since it was organized, approx. a thousand years ago.

On the other hand, the way eastern Europeans who aren’t Russian think, if you don’t want to be invaded by Russia you should join NATO.

These two things are incompatible. The best thing we can do is postpone conflict until there’s a change in Russia.

For a time, we (the west) were hopeful. Russia had a relationship with NATO, was a candidate for the OECD, and had elections. Putin’s All-Russia Party was actually the best of the three major parties (the other two were a communist party and an ultra-nationalist party).

Unfortunately, things went downhill.

As for spreading communism throughout the world during the communist era, that was part of Russia’s doctrine (except for the time that Stalin described as “socialism in one country”).

That is also the way we think. We didn’t want a Communist regime 90 miles from Miami and tried to get rid of it. How would we react if Mexico or Canada went Communist or allowed Russian or Chinese bases?

Mexico went communist (their version) in their revolution of 1911. Mexico shifted to a mixed economy under Vincente Fox twenty years ago.

We pulled back on the invasion at the Bay of Pigs in 1961. Cuba is to this day a communist country.

Russia and China have military bases in Venezuela and Nicaragua.

Why do you pro-Putin types think you can invade your neighbors and also mess around in this hemisphere? Answer: the rules for Russia are different.

Among the rules for Russia is that you only get the official approved history. So, pro-Putin types are amazingly ignorant of the most basic facts of history.

As for Canada, Canada has always been and is today a democracy and, although we don’t always see eye-to-eye, we’ve been friends since the Treaty of Ghent. In contrast, Russia (and China) has on-going border disputes with many if not all of their neighbors.

Again, countries on the border of Russia are well-advised to join in mutual defense with other countries so as to be able to defend yourself from Russia. If you’re weak, it’s just a matter of time before you’ll be invaded. Russia does not and has never respected weakness.

Canada, Mexico, and America are not Russia and Europe, there is nothing compare.

We three don’t cause global world wars that kill people by the tens of millions and threaten the entire world, that is why no one can force Canada to take national defense seriously and why Mexico doesn’t even really have a military budget, it is far less than 1%.

NATO and America are trying to maintain freedom and peace in Europe while Russia and the Communists are trying to introduce violence and war and dissension in this calmest part of the world.
