You are so short of time at takeoff that several unexpected moves can be made that would not allow enough time for the other pilot to prevent the crash.

It’s a LOT EASIER now for those types of pilots to take down planes as they and their luggage are no longer screened by TSA (except randomly) - so even bringing a gun on board is not difficult. At least that’s the US policy.

The fuel cut off was done at the most critical moment of takeoff. This was suicide and mass murder. The captain seemed confused on the radio as he was saying he had no power. It would have never occurred to him that the other pilot sabotaged the plane. You have procedures for engine failures but not sabotage.
