So NATO is coming to the defense of a non NATO nation that is in a war because of the possibility that it will become a NATO member.
Even though it is Biden's mess, obviously, how is it in our interest for the Russians to conquer Ukraine?
Especially when we made a "guarantee" to back Ukraine after they gave up their nuclear weapons?
So we have to back Ukraine in this war.
Obviously, the goal is to limit nuclear proliferation.
If the Russians end up conquering Ukraine due to us abandoning them, you'll see more countries attempt to acquire nuclear weapons. Ultimately, that is the only way to ensure their national security.
Ukraine was neutral with a majority of its people against joining NATO, when Putin seized Crimea in 2014 and then started a separatist war in the east.
“Nato is going to reimburse the full cost” of the weapons sent on to Ukraine.
Nato is always “going to do” things but little ever changes.
