Sure, Americans are bringing their money--not asking the government to pick up the tab for their lifestyles--but the influx is apparently raising housing prices and diluting Mexican culture.

God forbid that such a vibrant culture of graft, narcotrafficking, and gang violence that brought us the world's highest per capita murder rate in the 2010s might get "diluted" by an influx of law-abiding Americans with vacation homes.

Now that's a twist I bet you didn't see coming. We have Mexicans and others violently protesting here in the US, making the claim that they have an absolute right to enter our country legally and get all sorts of US welfare benefits, and we have Mexicans violently protesting in Mexico to keep legal US immigrants out because they are diluting the culture. Even American tourists are too much.

Yeah, well, if they enter legally that shouldn't be a problem. He meant illegally of course, but blew it.

So they are demanding that everyone in Mexico speak the language of the Spanish Conquistadors, their European conquerors. If they really wanted “purity” they would demand that everyone speak the languages and dialects of the ancient Mayans.

The irony is that the Americans or the “gringos” moving to Mexico are doing so LEGALLY and paying out of their own pockets to live there. The Mexican taxpayers are not on the hook for any expenses such as kids of American migrants in public schools or using up hospital resources.
