We have been in an undeclared with Iran since 1979. There have been several skirmishes with Iran since then - the tanker wars, the capture of our patrol boat, etc.
Carter shouldn’t have sent 8 helicopters, he should have sent 800 warplanes instead.
“”Missile strikes are often a precursor to boots on the ground. As if we didn’t kill off enough American soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. So much for the “president of peace”.””
But not necessarily. Israel can and will take it from here, I suspect. All this “angst” (anti-Trump, equating Trump to GWB BS) over nada. But the radical DS left will take any and every opportunity to bash Trump... and by proxy, his supporters, that they can to project negativity upon gullible people.
In case you haven’t noticed, and it’s quite apparent you haven’t, Albright is no longer the SOS.
Do try to keep up.

Maybe I misunderstood your request for examples of the U.S. “murdering” foreigners.
“ Maybe I misunderstood your request for examples of the U.S. “murdering” foreigners.”
Obviously.

To secure peace, prepare for war. Simple as that. Strike when they threaten and before they do.
That’s an ignorant statement. Some people just didn’t want to contend with the bickering and moved on to other things. I know of two and they certainly were not anti-American.

That’s fine and their choice... but...
how really ignorant would ‘they’ have to be... to not know and expect...
that bickering and arguing on a political forum, where political ideas are debated and argued daily, 24/7 and are ‘ongoing’ would be their experience? The term ‘snowflake’ comes to mind... no offense.
Perhaps the level of debate was over their head and beyond their paygrade.
No worries - no offense taken.
The debates in that era were spirited and vigorous, and as you pointed out that is what to expect.
However, in some threads debate became personal, with threats made against FReepers and comments about the families of FReepers. Site management did a commendable job dealing with those posters.
I don’t believe the two people I know are snowflakes. Their attitude as best I could tell was that the signal-to-noise ratio was low and it wasn’t worth the hassle to sort through ad hominem attacks..
As far as I know they did not complain on a thread about the SNR, and did not opus.
Re: debate was over their head, I always felt they made points in a polite way, which made (at least me) think.

And that is always the value of a forum like this. Not just to inform, but to make you think... otherwise of what you are thinking or were capable of thinking.
It is a blessing and an asset that we must acknowledge and appreciate. And preserve.
