President Trump said on Sunday that the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement should abandon Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) after his pushback Saturday night against the U.S. strikes on Iran.
In a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform, Trump called Massie “not MAGA” and “a simple minded ‘grandstander’ who thinks it’s good politics for Iran to have the highest level Nuclear weapon.”
Massie is weak, ineffective, and votes ‘NO’ on virtually everything put before him (Rand Paul, Jr.), no matter how good something may be. He is disrespectful to our great military, and all that they stand for, not even acknowledging their brilliance and bravery in yesterday’s attack, which was a total and complete WIN,” Trump said in his post.
The president name-checked Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) because both he and Massie have opposed the president’s “big, beautiful bill.” “Massie should drop his fake act and start putting America First, but he doesn’t know how to get there — he doesn’t have a clue! He’ll undoubtedly vote against the Great, Big, Beautiful Bill, even though non-passage means a 68% Tax Increase for everybody, and many things far worse than that. MAGA should drop this pathetic LOSER, Tom Massie, like the plague!” he added.
There's a real blood-lust up since Israel started bombing Iran. I can't tell how much is genuine, and how much is organized gas-lighting.
MAGA is a big-tent coalition. Start excluding the likes of Massie, even though he represents a small percentage of supporters, and watch MAGA crumble.
What a completely uninformed statement. It is in fact Massie who does everything he can to undermine Trump and Republicans. Maybe he could stop sowing division for once.
Trump is trying to obliterate a Deep State and drain a Swamp that spied on his campaign, hoax impeached him twice, stole an election from him, lawfared him, and would celebrate his death at any moment.
F the Republicans who sat around while all that was going on..
.
Massie supported and enabled Joe Biden’s record-breaking Woke Spending. He cast the deciding Vote on raising the Debt Ceiling for Joe with nothing in return.
He’s a fraud.
That can change. Trump was on the ticket.
Midterms get fewer voters.
We should welcome more people in the house and senate like Lindsey Graham and John Cornyn.
There are some suggesting President Trump needs to be impeached. It is reassuring that Massie has jumped ahead in line to encourage an impeachment. Massie is quite a guy. s/
“It is in fact Massie who does everything he can to undermine Trump and Republicans”
Moreso with the GOP Establishment, but to the extent that the Bush Clan saddled us with nearly 10 trillion dollars I am happy to say that someone undermining the GOP is more often than not doing a good thing.
If you like your Mitt Romneys you can keep your Mitt Romneys.
Don’t forget Trump himself is out there to undermine republicans. It was in part republicans why we have over 20 million illegals here to begin with.
Massie is more MAGA than Trump. And won his last primary by a landslide despite large AIPAC financial support for his opponent. Trump criticizing him will have no effect on his supporters.
Excellent posting. Also, Massie has that little head tilt. Men don’t do that. He does.
Kentucky:
Education-
Its K–12 system ranks 36th.
A 2023 study listed Kentucky as 43rd, with only about 35.7 % holding a bachelor’s or higher.
Chuck Schumer shares your views
That’s cute propaganda.
Not falling for it though.
Eh, sowing disagreement/division is fine. Americans have always been a disagreeable people, and I think robust debate amongst Republicans generally is a good thing.
What matters isn't the bare fact of disagreement, but whether the basis on which you disagree is correct, or not.
In this case, I think Massey happens to be wrong. Congress voting on long-term commitments makes sense. Makes much less sense for isolated actions like this one.
Thomas Massie is my litmus test.
He consistently votes yes or no based on the constitution. His constituents love him. His family is wonderful. Drops LOTR references. Lives off the grid in a house he built with his own hands. Graduated from MIT. Is a farmer, not just a congressman. Even the Amish love him and they hate government.
You don't have agree with him. But you have to admit he is consistent.
He is the smartest and best man we have in congress. A true statesman.
