In a defiant response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for the "unconditional surrender" of Iran, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei rejected the demand outright, Reuters reported.
Speaking from Tehran, Khamenei stated, “We will not bow to foreign demands or abandon our rightful cause. Iran will continue its path to secure its independence and sovereignty, regardless of the threats or ultimatums from the United States or any other nation.”
In a public meeting with his national security team, Trump affirmed that the U.S. would stand by Israel "until the Iranian threat is neutralized."
Khamenei's refusal to surrender comes as Israel's airstrikes against Iranian military sites in western Iran enter their sixth day, with continued targeting of missile systems, nuclear facilities, and military command centers. The Israeli government has made clear that it will not cease its operations until Iran abandons its nuclear weapons program and ceases its involvement in regional terrorism.

Summer’s here and the time is right..
Trump has to prove nothing. Iran is weak. Let Israel fight the war as long as they want…Iran is no longer able to get a nuclear bomb and thus the US interest has been met.
I wearily suspect that unless the hardened buried facilities at the Fordrow mountain complex are destroyed, we will have failed to address the nuclear threat here.
Will it take a nuclear bomb to destroy it is the trillion dollar question?
Does anyone have an assessment of how the Iranian people reallty feel about their leadership? I know they openly support the regime, but if that leadership disappears, what fills in the vacuum that’s left?
True.
Disagree.
You can’t let the Mullah’s stay in power. They have to keep bombing and disrupting until Iran Capitulates. They absolutely will detonate a nuke if they can get one, or probably a dirty bomb is coming. The only way to prevent this disaster is for them to surrender, and regime change.
I think this is a horrible situation, and unfortunately, US involvement seems inevitable at this point. Either now, when Iran is depleted of it’s resources to resist, or later after they kill many people with a nuclear terrorist act.
To those who don’t want a new war, and me being with you on that thought, keep in mind the following. Iran, or it’s proxies, have attacked US bases and assets at LEAST 100 times in the last year. They have already officially declared themselves at war with the US. They attack the US all of the time. At what point do we take care of the threat permanently, and when is the best time?
Let’s see if Khamenei winds up dead now, as Trump indicated we know where he is.
Ali Khamenei rejected Allah’s destiny, not very Shia of Ali Khamenei!
We shall see indeed.
Good.
Someone make sure he has a nice shiny PPK with him in his bunker.
L
True.
I suggest just re purposing the facility to focus on joint nuclear energy products between Israel and the next government. Or do anything with it that is publicly accessible to visitors from anywhere. Heck, turn it into a museum dedicated to the "years of oppression" that the people of Iran have had to endure.
Being a Muslim, he presumably won’t have to kill his dog.
Blondie was, by all accounts, a good boy.
“Will it take a nuclear bomb to destroy it is the trillion dollar question?”
We do have nuclear bomb bunker busters that drill in deep before detonating. Israel might have them too. These will reliably collapse Natanz and Fordow centrifuge halls. Reliably in my opinion.

“B61-11: The U.S. has developed the B61-11, a nuclear gravity bomb with earth-penetrating capability, specifically for targeting underground facilities.”
It’s really hard gauging sentiment in a closed society, but it’s useful to visit the New Iran subreddit to get a read on how regime opponents think.
