Former New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez turned himself in to federal prison on Tuesday for an 11-year sentence after he was found guilty on bribery and corruption charges.

Last year, Menendez was found guilty on all 16 counts, including extortion, obstruction of justice, acting as a foreign agent for Egypt, bribery, and conspiracy. He had accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of bribes from three once-prominent New Jersey businessmen — Wael Hana, Fred Daibes, and Jose Uribe.

He was the first sitting member of Congress to be convicted of acting as a foreign agent. Menendez had been chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Menendez, 71, reported to federal prison in Pennsylvania to begin serving his sentence.

The Bidens should be put in prison for bribery. Same for the Clintons.

Impressive how Annabella didn’t mention his party affiliation anywhere in the article, let alone in the title.

Bob Menendez, Democrat, ...

Shame on Annabella Rosciglione and the Examiner, I can't find the word "Democrat" anywhere in the article.

Will he be paroled or get time off his sentence for good behavior? How much of that will be absolutely serve? If he lives long enough?

Menendez is corrupt but how is he different from other Senators? His prosecution occurred under the Biden regime. As with Michael Madigan, the recently convicted congressman from Illinois, it looks like Menendez did not pay someone his “due and proper”. When the communists go after their own, it is because someone did not get a kickback or has otherwise stepped out of line.

“Good morning, Senator Menendez. Thank you for reporting here on schedule. Oh, did you perhaps forget all those ‘Gold Bars’ I keep hearing about? Were they accidentally left in the car again? Oops!”

“Last year, Menendez was found guilty on all 16 counts”

Why wasn’t he hauled away at that time, not (at least) 6 months later?

1) He’s dirty.

2) He couldn’t hide it.

3) They had to pretend they care. So

4) Under the bus he goes.

5) And the rest of the dirty SOBs get to primp and preen and act like they did something virtuous.

Basically a death sentence for the geezer. His crimes pale in comparison to the other Dems. This is a good start. Now onwards to the others!

As old as he is, 11 years may be a death sentence.

This is a federal conviction. In federal prison if you get 11 years, you serve 11 years, barring a pardon by the next dim pres, if ever.
