If you reintroduce a predator into its former territorial range don’t be surprised when it does what it was eliminated for in the first place.........

Plenty of “bad wolves” soon to be rounded up, including in Colorado.

If I can raise chickens for the hawks you can raise beef for the wolves, seems only fair. </s>

There’s a reason we got rid of wolves and grizzly bears.

Following the yearling’s death, a ranch in Old Snowmass reported two additional calf depredations. Parks and Wildlife said the carcasses lacked the amount of evidence required to tie them to a wolf attack. No of course it wasn’t wolves. It was obviously space aliens or maybe a pack of grasshopper mice.

Mighty hard to catch them in the crosshairs. I remember when I was small child nearly 80 years ago my father lying at dusk on the cattle ramp which had a view of the hen house where my grandmother housed her chickens waiting for foxes with his 16ga It took him days to nail the critter.

“”Shoot, shovel, shut up.””
I agree. But what do you want to bet these wolves have tracking devices installed?

The problem with traps is that: A. they don’t discriminate on what they catch and B. What they catch is visible to all and sundry including game wardens who value wolves far more than ranchers.

Remember the 1960s when anti-hunting journalist ROGER CARAS was lobbying for a return of the wolf packs.

Not only GPS, but heart rate monitors. They know the minute their heart stops. SSS doesn’t work anymore.
Eventually, I predict the development of non lethally armed robot drones programmed to harass wolves with rubber bullets or pepper balls.
The cattle will learn to stay in the open where the drones are and the wolves will skulk the tree line.

Relocate the wolf pack to Aurora; there's plenty of bean fed tenderloin on the hoof.

“Not all those animals have been involved in those depredations,” he said, later adding that one member of the pack “I don’t think has been around any of these depredations.”He's not the operative. He is the planning officer.

Heart rate monitors …
An argument for ricin tipped air gun pellets. A couple of days before they finally become good wolves.
