Following the yearling’s death, a ranch in Old Snowmass reported two additional calf depredations. Parks and Wildlife said the carcasses lacked the amount of evidence required to tie them to a wolf attack.

No of course it wasn’t wolves. It was obviously space aliens or maybe a pack of grasshopper mice.

The problem with traps is that: A. they don’t discriminate on what they catch and B. What they catch is visible to all and sundry including game wardens who value wolves far more than ranchers.
