The Media Are Taking L.A. Riot Gaslighting to a Whole New Level
PJMedia ^ | 6/9/25 | Matt Margolis

It’s almost hard to believe what we’re witnessing, not just in the streets of Los Angeles, but on our TV screens, where the so-called “news” media is once again doing its best impression of Baghdad Bob. As violent mobs riot against ICE, hurl objects at law enforcement, set fires, and surround federal buildings, the media is bending over backward to pretend it’s all just another peaceful day in paradise.

And it’s not just national media.

ABC 7 in Los Angeles is gaslighting its viewers, too. Anchor Marc Brown had the audacity to blame law enforcement for escalating the situation when it was just a bunch of people having fun, watching cars burn.

I’m not joking. He literally said the situation “could turn very volatile if you move law enforcement in there in the wrong way, and turn what is just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn into a massive confrontation and altercation between officers and demonstrators.”

If it were their own cars they were burning, then maybe...

Those cars don’t belong to anyone important. No college professors, politicians, or local news reporters were inconvenienced with the loss of their transportation. So, they give no cares.

Now, if you need that car to get to work the next morning, to pay your rent and feed your kids, I guess you just have to consider the fun that was had watching your car burn. And your sacrifice is all for progress.

Somehow I don’t think these people (term used loosely) are burning their own cars.

There’s a reason my town (and most likely state) is lousy with vehicles displaying California license plates......they didn’t drive all the way here just to go to Disney world for a few days......they’re here to stay.

Rioters were requesting Waymo transportation and then when the vehicles arrived, they set fire to the cars. Waymo finally wised up and stopped sending their cars to the LA riot area.

Well said. I keep waiting for the day when MAYBE there will be some honest reporting. Just a glimmer that they are moving toward a slight objectivity, a wee movement toward honesty. But it NEVER happens. Not in decades. They reach new lows, you think to yourself “There’s no way they can sink lower,” but they never fail to disappoint.

Waymo is owned by Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. It began as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009 and was spun out as a separate subsidiary, Waymo LLC, in 2016.

Shouldn’t Google be down for the struggle? Shouldn’t they be offering up their cars as token sacrifices?

The Democrats and the media - but I repeat myself (hat tip Chris Plante) - normalized violence and lawlessness in the St. George Floyd riots five years ago and are now attempting a repeat to save “their democracy” from our Trump-led counterrevolution. I don’t think it will work quite as well the second time. At least I hope enough of the country has wised up so it won’t.

Call congress-——WHO’S BEHIND THE ANTI-ICE RIOTS IN LOS ANGELES?

Hundreds took to the streets this weekend: blocking roads, attacking federal officers, even burning flags. But this wasn’t “spontaneous outrage.” This was organized. Funded. Coordinated.

At the center of the funding web is CHIRLA—the Coalition for Humane Immigration Rights. Documents reveal the group saw a shocking jump from $12 million to $34 million in government grants in just one year.

While most of that is believed to come from the State of California, the group has received federal funding as well.

If you are unable to contact your rep using their contact form, the Clerk of the House maintains addresses and phone numbers of all House members and Committees.

Or you may call (202) 224-3121 for the U.S. House switchboard operator.

Evidence Suggests LA “Riots” Over ICE Raids Could Be Govt‑Funded

What began as a so-called “spontaneous protest” against ICE enforcement operations in Los Angeles has now been exposed as something far more insidious: a well-funded, coordinated riot, with ties to radical left-wing organizations, government-backed NGOs, and even a billionaire known for pushing Chinese Communist propaganda.

According to a damning exposé by investigative account @DataRepublican, several nonprofit organizations and shadowy political fronts played a pivotal role in igniting the chaos that saw federal officers attacked, flags burned, and city streets blocked.

But what’s more alarming: tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer money may have indirectly fueled the unrest.

It is gaslighting?

Or are the lies simply performative loyalty tests with no one expected to believe?

Oh, they are deliberately lying. They have to have that narrative that Trump is a violent dictator who is violating the First Amendment rights of peaceful protesters. If they take the House next year, this will be part of the impeachment proceedings. The GOP needs to get their act in gear.

They lie, they know they lie, we know they lie, but we are supposed to pretend we believe them.

BTW, here is Miranda Devine’s new column.

This is a Color Revolution

Color Revolution: A soft coup using legal warfare, media manipulation, protest orchestration, and institutional capture.
