Donald Trump declared 'bring in the troops' and called for the arrest of anyone in face masks as violent clashes between federal law enforcement and protesters have rocked Los Angeles following a crackdown on illegal migrants across the US.
Rioters have set fire to driverless cars, looted stores, driven motorcycles at lines of cops and created blockades to grind Downtown LA to a complete halt as chaos in the city stretches into its third day.
In one vicious attack, officers were trapped under an overpass on the 101 Freeway as they were hammered with fiery missiles and rocks from above while trying to extinguish flames engulfing several now-destroyed highway patrol cars.
Meanwhile authorities have rained down rubber bullets and tear gas on demonstrators as they march against President Trump's nationwide immigration raids.
Trump earlier sent in 2,000 National Guard troops and placed 500 Marines on standby, while the LAPD has authorized the 'use of less lethal munitions' to regain control of the city.
The conflict has sparked a war of words between Trump and California Governor Gavin Newsom, who accused him of intentionally inflaming tensions.
Trump hit back with a Truth Social post on Sunday demanding both Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass apologize for the LA riots, insisting those involved are not 'peaceful protesters' as the duo had claimed, but instead 'troublemakers and insurrectionists.'
Democrat Representative Maxine Waters, a staunch critic of the president, called the deployment of National Guard troops an unnecessary escalation, asking as she stood outside Metropolitan Detention Center: 'Why are they out here with guns?'.
'Who are you going to shoot?' she asked the two dozen soldiers present. 'If you're going to shoot me, you better shoot straight.'

I think I see the problem here: “rubber bullets”!?
Shoot straight sounds good to me.
It’s way too early for Halloween.
ACLU will likely jimp on the mask issue prpclaiming that it is a form of “protected speech” or a “right to protest” or some such nonsense.
bump
gotta give’m space to destroy.
By Trump failing to arrest Newsom, these riots will, spread throughout the country. The National Guard is, at best, a temporary fix.. a band aid.
Time for a Kent state moment.
That will put an end to this problem REAL quickly
Tin Soldiers and Trump is coming
He’s finally had enough
This summer I hear Tom Homan
(i’ll wait for the final results before posting the next line)
“As authorities in LA struggled to contain demonstrators, the carnage spread to San Francisco where vandals trashed buildings and violently clashed with police in riot gear.
San Francisco Police also declared gatherings ‘unlawful gatherings’ in the city’s financial district, reporting that rioters there injured two officers.”
The few rioters arrested by LA police in LA will have their cases reviewed by leftist Democrat local and state prosecutors. Most will be let go. For the few that go into the court system there are generous plea bargains with sympathetic prosecutors and judges. Ultimately Newsom can grant pardons.
Any who are arrested and charged with federal crimes will face leftist federal district judges sympathetic to the cause. Don’t expect the LA rioters to face the same music as the Jan 6 protestors in DC.
Trying to regain order is now “inflaming tensions” in the current version of dem-speak.

Can some ‘journalist’ please interview owners of LA business to see what THEY think about efforts to end the violence and discord!
Time to roll the tanks in to LA . . .

“BREAKING NEWS Trump orders the arrest of everyone in face masks”
CNN: “It’s one thing to have a president who’s a Covid Denier, but something entirely different to have a president who will not even allow those who take the simple precaution of wearing a mask to be in public.”
That is ridiculous hyperbole. With their eyes closed, the guardsmen couldn't miss that Twinkie-infested water buffalo.
