Facing a Demographic Shift, Vietnam Abolishes Two-Child Policy

Vietnam has eliminated its policy of limiting families to having no more than two children, as the country seeks to boost a declining fertility rate that threatens its long-term economic prospects.
The new regulation, approved by the National Assembly on Tuesday, formalizes what had already been common practice for most Vietnamese couples — with the exception of Communist Party officials. Since the fertility policy was introduced in 1988, and until the legal change this week, party members could lose bonuses or be fired for having more than two children.
Now, all families can have as many children as they want, and, in fact, officials are actively encouraging couples to procreate as their concerns about Vietnam’s demographic balance have begun to intensify. The country of 100 million saw its birthrate fall to a record low last year, at 1.91 children per woman. It was the third consecutive year that Vietnam’s birthrate dropped below the replacement level of 2.1.

100 million people is a lot for a small and poor country.
But, if they must increase the population, ask for the Vietnam boat refugees to come back, and undo the genocide that took place when the Vietnam war ‘ended’.

Well, it shows us that there was never any reason to send in the Marines.
We could have just piped in Paul Ehrlich’s BS propaganda and convinced them they needed to suicide themselves. As it was, his nonsense conned them into only having two - the famous “replacement” child number.

It is worse if most of them are old. The boat people are older now, the women certainly past child-bearing age.

There are 15k ethnic Vietnamese in our jails per Wikipedia. Deport them. That’ll help.
Send all our dirty old men to live there and procreate with their SSI checks.
Problem solved.

Baby China — in more ways than one.

EVERY country that has advanced economic development and modern industry to 1st world status is having lower birth rates, while some of the poorest countries continue to have high birth rates.

VN is up to the hilt in debt to China for all their infrastructure upgrade projects (w/ kickback bribes to pols). They need more ‘workers’ to service their debts to China.

Why does the modern world need more people? Why does Earth need more people? Really; why does every nation on Earth need more people. ???Our economic system depends on a growing population. Otherwise, it'll stagnate. Japan is a great example of that.
But it may change due to AI. Now that AI is here, our economic system is going to change dramatically.

Population growth is the key to keeping the pyramid scheme from collapsing.

Is that picture of a city supposed to indicate that Vietnam is not a small country and that most people are not poor?

But, I'm sure they've had children and grandchildren, so, perhaps they have millions of descendants living in the U.S. now, so, send them all back to assist their motherland.

I suppose you're right. But I have no expectations that the U.S. would ever deport any of them, unless they acted against the U,S. in any way.
I was just jesting, and I have met many Vietnamese friends who I get along with, including the lady who cuts my hair and her two daughters and her husband, and her daughters' husbands, and their grandkids.

The ones I know worked hard to learn English and assimilate. I don’t believe that we give a lot of foreign aid to Vietnam, and for a commie in the southeast, they are not getting palsy with Red China. I don’t particularly want to go back to England, Ireland, Poland, or Germany, and these legit refugees should notbe asked to send their children to their homeland. Vietnam would have been better. served if she had not adopted the two-child policy in the first place. Commie attitude that your children are part of a state plan. yuck
