Needed Repeating
you can say that again...
Have you ever driven one? Spare tire provides the air for w/s washers, so you get a dirty w/s and a flat spare? No fan for the heater, air was forced from outside, if the car was sitting still at a light, no heater fan!
60;s VW’s were pretty crude. Most people wouldn’t drive one 50 miles after what they’re used to with today’s cars.
They are building an EV version of the IH Scout
If you took every VW Bug ever made and parked them end to end it would circle the Earth twice. That’s what I read on the internets somewhere.
Part of this is the idiotic EU ban on the manufacture of ICE vehicles that is coming.
I don’t think I’ve seen one, but I was driving a 67 Chevelle in those days.
Get a later mid 60s one with a 12 volt electrical system.
Just a good excuse to leave Europe where factories get shut down for lack of power and unions rule.
it’s i believe was a good year.
I’ve had several in day’s past.
Fun in a Baja form !
Side by sides -—?
Maybe I should drive one.
“Didn’t Rivian go belly-up?”
not yet ... but that is inevitable based on my personal observations of local Rivian traffic in Boulder County, namely when Rivians were hot a few years ago, there were quite a few zipping around, but every year there were fewer and fewer on the road ... i also noticed that Rivian came out with new colors each year, so you could track new ones on the road vs. old ones, and i NEVER saw ANY Rivians from previous years, only the brand new ones with the new colors ... and the number of new ones diminished each year until one almost sees no Rivians on the road at all ...
i suspect the only thing keeping Rivian afloat is that amazon owns a big chunk of the company, and Rivian makes all of those funny looking brown amazon EV delivery trucks ... but one wonder how long amazon is willing to eat the operational and maintenance costs of those things before they throw in the towel ...

if i remember correctly, at one time the Bugs had to have a gasoline powered heater because the little air-cooled engines couldn’t generate enough heat to power conventional heaters ...
Had a ‘62 20 yrs ago Very Good Original
Condition and drove it around San Diego a Couple yrs...it was a Hoot !
.
Had a Baja mid ‘60s that I Spruced up nicely in Indianapolis in the early 90’s.

.
You’d get fair Gas Milage at Least!

They were fun back in the day. 21.5 million made. Length is 13.58 feet. Earth circumference is 24,901 miles. 2.22068786 times around the globe.
I thought I remembered correctly that my old used 1966 VW Sqareback Sedan had a 6 volt battery. Nobody with an American car could jump start it, but you could always just push it and pop the clutch when the need arose. :-)
Funny that I just watched a YouTube short with over 20 Bugs and a Ghia insider and old Barn for sale !
Bird Do all over...
