Bring back the 350
Can’t survive modern emissions laws.
That’s what usually kills excellent motors...... like the Ford 300.....
Yes!
As a GM family, I’m done with GM. I’ve seeen the decline of the brand over the last several decades in the quality of the product. The family first discount used to be good when you were getting a quality product.
Also tells you a lot when they’re producing from plants located in a high cost state like NY. Figures why vehicle costs have increased so much.
Zelden needs to roll back those crap laws. I for one am particularly tired of the undersized motors with turbos that do not last very long just to meet some BS environmental law.
Diesel is the way to go.
If you trace labor costs through the supply chain, some estimates suggest total labor could represent up to 25–30% of a car’s total cost. If a plant in New York sources parts from the Midwest or Mexico, then labor costs are largely governed by where the parts are made, not where they’re assembled.
“Bring back the 350”
That was a great engine . I was 18 and bought a used 1967 Camaro SS350 in Jan. 1971 . The punishment that engine took ! And being 18 I didn’t have much extra dough to properly maintain it . Nevertheless , it never failed me . Ended up selling the car to my cousin - a mechanical wiz like his old man - and bought a new Z-28 in 1973 which turned out to be a lemon from day one . Should have kept the SS !
Trump’s fault.
For sure the car companies have been chasseing that devil far to long
I think you’re making a mistake. I just bought my umpteenth GMFamily First car 3 weeks ago. I started by buying one a year after 1969 since then you could buy one, drive it for a year, then sell it for nearly what you paid for it. My latest was three weeks ago. It’s a hands-free self driving SUV with all the bells and whistles. My problems with all of them have been near zero.
Are they laws? Or EPA regulations? If the latter, Trump can stomp those into the mud.
Bring back the Hellcat.
“Bring back the 350..”
I’d take an Olds Rocket!
“General Motors is investing $888 million in its Tonawanda Propulsion plant in Buffalo, New York..”
That’ll cost a big tariff...Trump wants manufacturing done in the U.S.
And, the only reason diesel is next to nowhere is because of some stupid CO2 regulations that VW had to edge navigate to comply with. Idiots. One of the best diesels made had to be scrapped - pisses me off. I have a MB603 and always have at least one diesel vehicle because diesel fuel can always be found regardless of the situation.
Hint: There are 40 million privately owner fuel oil tanks in the US.
GM Switches Gears On New York EV Plant As GOP Nukes Dems’ Mandate
The important bit buried far down in the story, and to answer your question...
...Notably, New York announced a two-year suspension of penalties for failing to meet EV targets last week, according to Reuters...
They're not giving up. Just postponing.
“another sign of automakers adapting to slower-than-expected market demand for EVs”
These fools bought into the AGW scam along with believing the EV’s would sell. And building big trucks was double stupid.
