California changes high school track and field championship rules amid Trump threats over trans athletes

As California continues to face threats from President Donald Trump's administration over state policies allowing trans athletes in girl's sports, the state organization that oversees high school sports announced a change that aims to ensure girls are not displaced from winning a medal.

The California Interscholastic Federation on Tuesday announced a new pilot entry process for the upcoming Track and Field Championships, allowing a "biological female" student-athlete to compete who may have otherwise been displaced from gaining entry to the competition by a trans athlete.

Gov. Gavin Newsom's office clarified that the CIF's pilot policy also means events at the Track and Field Championships on May 30-31 in Clovis will score separately for transgender students. So there could now be three first place winners in the Long Jump competition, for example: One biological boy, one trans athlete, and one girl.

I so wish we could move out of California, but family and other matters precludes it. Other than my 3 years Shore Duty in Spain, I've lived here 72 of my 75 years in what was once the Golden State. Now almost weekly I become more disgusted by the Socialists/Commies in Sacramento and the never-ending wokeness.

Still, I have my wife; my doggie; no mortgage; no big debts. And I now have President Trump in the WH doing the best he can with all the efforts to stop his MAGA.

My biggest hope is that the USSC will put a lid on these District Judges who believe their district decisions apply nationwide. I've lost count of all those TDS court decisions. Can someone direct me to the USSC case or cases that could stop this over-reach by district judges? Please, anyone.

perhaps a transitional set of rules should be in place...

where girls’/women’s competitions allow both, girls/women and trannies.

And, two winners can be crowned: the trans winner and the REAL girl/woman.

I don’t care what Jenner calls thenself. But I think Jenner could be an inspiration for bio males who think they are female on what to do in sports. They should compete with the boys. That’s what Jenner did and they got the Gold.

This whole thing of having bio boys compete with girls is like having us adults compete with the little boys in T-Ball. Its so unfair to the girls.

The bio boys who think they are girls should compete with the boys and go for the gold like Jenner did. And Jenner won.

Exactly. These “girls” want to win the gold without doing the work. When my son was in high school he was on the j.v. basketball team. They sucked. One day they set up a game with the girls varsity team. The jv boys beat them soundly. That year these same girls won the state championship. I’m just an uneducated deplorable but I know that boys and girls are very different. Women are smarter, more nurturing and caring and stuff but men are much better at opening jars, squishing bugs and fighting off bears.
