Thank you very much and God bless you.
We have had many, many threads on PFAS and the danger posed by them.
I will agree with all of you that this video is just shy of scaremongering - maybe well into that territory.
But with the discussions by Robert Kennedy on "forever chemicals" this seemed to a decent discussion on the history of polytetrafluoroethylene.
Even if they blame DuPont and 3M for poisoning the whole planet.
It’s always been my theory that polyester was invented by two female chemists. Can you guess their names?
Around the year 1900,the average global life expectancy was, maybe, 40 years.
The global life expectancy today is 70 years. In the USA, it is over 80 years.
As El Rush-Bo often stated, one of the main global problems is the unequal distribution of the free enterprise system (that’s capitalism for those of you in Rio Linda).
Uh no. What are you thoughts on this?
Bookmark, to be read tomorrow.
Poly and Ester?
I saw a video that said lead based gasoline was the biggest killer on earth because of how lead in the air poisoned everything.
They poisoned the planet? Who cares! “Muh corporation!!!” “Muh free markets!” Don’t tell muh corporation what they can and can’t do!
Sincerely,
the neoCON free traitor corporation worshippers who say that america is just a marketplace.
“problem is unequal distribution of the free enterprise system”
The choice is often: In socialism and top down controlled societies the masses live in poverty. The top have the privilege of the system paying their expenses.
In a free society the invisible hand sees to it that the masses live a life those in socialism can only dream of.
Those more motivated, or more talented at acquiring wealth have more than the masses, who still have more than those in socialism. And when the invisible hand is at work, those who can work but choose not to work get what they deserve. And in a capitalist society there is far more voluntary, private charity for those who truly deserve it.
Lucy and Ethel?
I saw that episode!
We just need more nationalized industries because nationalization solves every problem known to humanity.
That’d be Pollyesther.
Yeah. So much leftist agitprop posted here.
Be careful when you look at life expectancy. Many people lived into their 80’s and 90’s decades and centuries ago. Many more children died young from pneumonia and diarrhea and young women died giving birth or soon after. Then there were wars. Many wars.
All kidding aside we have three options.
1: Government dominates and nationalizes and kills anybody who dissents to the master plan.
2: A deep state of untraceable and un-elected bureaucrats self styling themselves as “experts” creating regulations in the darkness of the night time.
3: Free markets not within the government’s jurisdiction. A wall of separation between economics and state.
Choose wisely. The person I initially responded to was spitting venom at option number 3 meaning they are supporters of either variety 1 or 2. I figured that person was not a supporter of the deep state.
But I suppose there are deep state proponents around here.
Meaningless stats. The average life expectancy decreased because of the dramatic reduction in infant mortality.
Everything breaks down into innertness.
“But I suppose there are deep state proponents around here.”
Yep and they keep showing up on the Ukraine threads.
Dupont brought us Kevlar, Tybek and Nomex and 3M brought us Post-it notes and Scotch Tape.
