Buffer Zone to Cover Nearly All of Ukraine — Medvedev

It could happen if "If military aid to the Banderite regime continues," deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council said

MOSCOW, May 25. /TASS/. A buffer zone will encompass nearly entire Ukraine if military aid to the Kiev regime continues, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has warned.

"If military aid to the Banderite regime continues, the buffer zone could look like this," he wrote on his Telegram channel and posted a video where the buffer zone covers almost the entire Ukrainian territory but for a small part in the west.

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a meeting with government officials that a decision has been made to establish a security buffer zone along the Russia-Ukraine border.

While visiting China a year ago, Putin pointed to shelling attacks on Russian border areas in the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk Regions from the Ukrainian territory. He emphasized the need for what he called a "sanitary zone" to secure Russian regions against the Ukrainian aggression.

I guess he forgot that he is the one who invaded Ukraine and bombed their cities.

They want to continue killing each other into the millions.

Not smart. It will make both countries much weaker.

I’m sure Europeans and Chinese approve.

You mean when Ukraine did not join NATO and did not attack Russia?

You mean when Ukraine did not join NATO and did not attack Russia?

NATO countries and us under Biden and Obama fomented an illegal coup in Ukraine and trained, funded and armed a 600,000 man Ukrainian army.

Only imbecile would deny that was threat to Russia's naval base in Crimea and to its national security.

The neo-Nazis in Ukraine and globalists got greedy. They could have had control of all but Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk. But, that wasn't good enough.

That’s what the brain dead West gets for giving St Z long range missiles. The buffer zone will be at least the range of those missiles, much written about that( but not in western MSM).

Everything the collective West has done has backfired. A good lesson for the war cheerleaders and Neo cons.

Still pushing that falsehood I see. Regardless of how Yanukovych lost his office—and it was a popular movement, not external coup—his two successors were elected by the Ukrainian people; a fact that you always want to ignore. And as far as the 600,000 man army, this was in response to Russia seizing Ukrainian land and claiming the remainder of the two oblasts, not a prelude to an invasion of Russia.

Right.....because as we know, the invading party is always in the wrong, correct?

Still making excuses for a dictator invading another country that was not threatening it? Putin's peace demands clearly show that this was never about the threat of NATO expansion but rather and an attempt to subjugate Ukraine and bring it back under Moscow's rule. All of the Russian apologists keep ignoring the fact that it is Russian doctrine that Ukraine is not a real country, just an artificial creation of the anti-Russian west. This is what is driving this war, not any threat from NATO. The only threat NATO presented was that it blocks Russia from extending it hegemony over member states.

Not in the annexed areas, it wasn't.

Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk all had a right to their independence.

No, they have the right to participate in Ukrainian politics to advance their positions. This they could do if it were not for the Russian occupation. Nor do militants from the ethnic Russian minority represent the will of the entire people of those oblasts.
