US deploys over 1,000 additional troops to border with Mexico
Mexico news Daily ^ | May 23, 2025 | MND Staff

Posted on 05/24/2025 10:18:02 AM PDT by BeauBo

"The U.S. government has announced plans (on 22 May) to deploy more than 1,000 troops to its shared border with Mexico (in addition to the ~10,000 already in place), to “provide enhanced sustainment, engineering, medical, and operational capabilities...

...In a May 22 press release, U.S. Northern Command said “1,115 service members were approved to deploy to the Southern Border” as part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s “continued whole-of-government approach to gain full operational control of the southern border.”

Northern Command, headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is responsible for defending the continental United States and Alaska, while also coordinating defense efforts with Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas...

...The security measures — labeled Joint Task Force-Southern Border — are being taken to confront what President Trump has characterized as an “invasion” of migrants, drug cartels and smugglers.

Northern Command says the joint task force “conducts integrated, multi-domain operations in coordination with federal, state, and local partners to detect, monitor, and deter unlawful activity throughout the southern border.”

There have been reports that U-2 spy planes, surveillance drones and helicopters are being used by the U.S. to map and monitor suspected criminal activities in Mexican territory. Additionally, in March Trump sent two Navy warships to patrol the waters along the Mexican border in the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.”

JTF-Southern Border, a new standing organization, will provide long term management and planning for the Military to secure the US/Mexican border. They bring a lot of resources and unique Military capabilities to the mission.

to “provide enhanced sustainment, engineering, medical, and operational capabilities...

A likely story.

We are preparing to invade Mexico, like Putin invaded Ukraine.

(Watch the Mexican president go crazy). ;)

It sounded good until I read "provide enhanced sustainment, engineering, medical, and operational capabilities..."

Where's "repelling invaders" on that list??? That list sounds like "nation-building" right here n our own country, but building the nation with invaders.

There are over 800 active federal judges. As we have seen previously, any one of them could decide he knows more about border security than does President Trump.

But Trump won’t let that stop him, not for a moment. Let’s just hope the Supreme Court doesn’t get all wobbly here.

For over 4 months now, Trump has been just onesy-twosy returning illegals home.

No doubt the judges have made it more difficult, but we’ve got upwards of a couple million who could be sent home immediately, but haven’t been.

Ah, a lovely time of year to be deployed to the border. Iraq/Kuwait-like.

Yeah, it gets VERY hot along that border, but hey, they took the Oath. Also, it really is a dry heat that we all laugh about until you get into Texas. I've made the trip from San Diego to Tombstone to join the Minutemen. It was uncomfortable, but doable without the Texas humidity. But then I wasn't in full uniform, body armor, and all the other equipment hanging on.

"We are preparing to invade Mexico, like Putin invaded Ukraine."

You're joking, right? IIRC, President Trump already asked Presidente Sheinbaum if she would allow US SpecOp teams to move on the drug cartels. She said no and that's last I heard of it.

However, she did agree that Mexico will not object to President Trump’s plan to force asylum seekers detained at the southwestern border to wait in Mexico until their cases are heard in U.S. That and more border wall, the newly designated military buffer zone, plus all the troops deployed, plus increasing Border Patrol are big positives.

All the above plus ICE increased deportations which the USSC is going to have to resolve all these stupid District Judicial rulings, we're looking pretty good. Illegal immigration is down some 90% since Trump.

The US is not going to invade Mexico, if you are serious.

What's with you "invading Mexico" or "nation-building" folks? Do yourself a favor and read my post #13. They are positive facts regarding the Biden illegal immigration invasion and what Trump is doing about it.

Yeah. What happened to mass deportations?
I understand they prioritized dangerous gang members, and democrats through their judges even objected to that ... first, determine they are here illegally, then put them on trains en masse and take them back to the border, shove across. That’s the law.
That’s how they got here. If democrats don’t like it, tell them to pound sand.

Get real. Why don’t you go volunteer.
