Most of the corporations in my states are still offshoring like gangbusters. They are highly profitable, but pleading high Opex as a reason to slash the American work force.

Remove all limits on the number of H1bs and other work visas allowed per year. At the same time charge an annual $50,000 fee for each work visa. (we can discuss making it $75,000). The key is to make it MORE EXPENSIVE to hire foreigners than it is to hire Americans.

If companies “need” foreign workers that badly let them have all the ones they want. Though I’m betting they will discover they “need” remarkably fewer foreign workers once it costs them more money to employ them than it would cost to employ Americans. The US is one of the only countries in the world that allows this scam. Other countries make their domestic employers jump through all kinds of hoops to bring in foreigners rather than employ locals.

“Stop hating H1B people folks…”

…obviously a TDS liberal. Always accusing people of “hating”. A majority of H1Bs don’t assimilate. And they do send their money back to India and they take over neighborhoods. I’m in Real Estate and I see that a lot.

Whom ever who works for walmart and is putting out this so called news should be one of the ones let go; their usefulness lies elsewhere with the tds ers.
Small companies have employed more and if dempctat rules laws and givesways would be redacted ,,, lookout.
Redact with a pen, and not an autopen.
Redact the Biden Error.

The problem is, if you let H-1Bs in, they learn the job, then the company can move the entire office off shore … need to solve that problem

You’re an idiot.

The next Congress would change the law by dropping the fee to zero OR by offering a cash bounty to the employer, leaving the unlimited part intact.

Only in the loosest sense of the word "learn."

Well that's an idiotic response.

The next Congress can change any law they want to. That's not a good reason to enact a law now. Make it MORE EXPENSIVE to hire foreigners and companies will hire fewer of them and will instead hire Americans.....and don't tell me they'll just outsource everything. They already tried that and it did not work well. That's why they brought in all the H1Bs - because outsourcing failed.

What’s with the immediate insult?

Violation of FR rules. Completely unnecessary.

The main issue isn't H1B, but outsourcing.

If a US company feels the need to hire foreigners I'd prefer they get hired in their own country rather than relocated here.

As long as companies have to fund the health insurance of their employees, and not have to worry about funding the healh insurance of Sanjay in Mumbai, American workers will be at a disadvantage.

Traveling through Norristown Pennsylvania to King of Prussia, you’d think it were Calcutta.

You see the woman in native dress waiting at bus stops (the men with their turbans shaped like a genie lamp), and posters on the restaurant walls depicting their Gods Shiva, Ganesha, and Vishnu.

A lot of them are untouchables (Dalit), and eventually they will bring with them the Calcutta sewage.

Any attempted reform of the h-1b visas will always fail. The only solution is to end it.
