A lot of countries could say that about a lot of territory that used to be theirs but was conquered and now belongs to the winners. In fact, most of planet Earth at one time or another.

Yep. I was thinking of much the same thing. East Prussia once belonged to Germany, Finland once belonged to Imperial Russia, etc. My older Hungarian friends and relatives are still VERY upset at Hungary’s loss of Transylvania after WW1.
When does the fussing end? Do we accept international borders as they are today? Or do we accept war and threats of war forever?
I guess the answer is: Might makes right. Same as it ever was.
