“ It’s almost like the MSM doesn’t want to cover President Trump’s successes.”
Almost? The legacy media simply ignores Trump’s successes unless it finds a way to report them as a negative mentioning something about the process, etc.
The Jihadist attitudes of wealthy Muslims in the Arab world is not hugely different than that of the Muslim jihadist terrorists; they only differ on how they want to subdue Christianity and the west. The terrorists want to kill everyone and the wealthy Muslims want to buy influence over everyone.
Along with the Saudi, UAE and Qatar business investments promised to be made in the U.S., look for comparable expanded investment in Muslim religious and sectarian institutions in the U.S., including at big secular academic institutions.
Trump is being myopic on the matter.
Good one!
What you just described is Jacksonian foreign policy.
Perfect.👍

Gem of the Day: If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you will keep getting what you’ve always gotten.

Thank you, President Trump, for blowing up this common adage, in your use of diplomacy on par with a neutron bomb, and for the massive, long overdue RED PILLING.

To no one in particular, tracking down a transcript of the President’s speech in Saudi Arabia and posting it here for elucidation and posterity would be in order and much appreciated. I’ll make an effort right now. Later.
Realpolitik instead of Pax Americana.
Rational.
You sound like Madeline Albright— “what good is a strong military if you don’t use it?”
That “almost” was with tongue firmly planted in cheek!
The corrupt and hubristic necons don’t believe they have failed.

if you mess with us well will f*** your sh*t up but we aren't sending in anyone to build roads, schools, hospitals etc after - whatever you have we'll destroy it and you until you leave us alone.
Or behind door number two if you stop f***ing with us and have something to trade lets trade if you want to but stay out of our way and we'll leave you alone. We probably don't care what you do in your stupid nation anyhow. Go do something constructive and of value but we've got a very sharp knife
“what was probably the most important presidential speech in decades”
That’s not hyperbole. It was a truly magnificent speech.
Actually, he did the prudent thing when he saw the cost/benefit ratio was not in our favor. It was also prudent to leave the Israelis to fight their own battle instead of our spending more of our blood and treasure on yet another Other People’s War. America First.
Good summary. Thanks.
DOH! It’s posted in the header. Thank you to the original poster for including President Trump’s epic shot across the bow of the war mongers that never spill any of their blood, or any of their family’s blood, in their ease to spend our treasure in loss of life, and loss of capital. SMH!
“...So it’s just another kind of “nation building” without remaking them into Middle Eastern versions of western liberal democracies. But the effect is the same in the end.”
The effect may be the same but the motivation is totally different. “Nation building” intentionally destabilizes to create a form of government desired by the aggressor.
What Trump did to the Houthi’s was totally reactive, in response to their unprovoked acts of aggression, FAFO. We have the moral high ground in this situation.
Warmongering globalists have spent American and European lives to replace the old corrupt regimes of non-Western countries with new corrupt regimes.
Each time, they claim that a glorious, peaceful, and happy Western democracy will be the result.
This is always a lie.
Trump is being myopic on the matter.
Yes, Trump needs to understand the gov’t of Iran consists of Islamic zealots who want to create chaos to bring back their Mahdi & then a global caliphate. They aren’t interested in trade.
This speech represents the most substantive US Foreign Policy shift since Reagan’s Brandenburg Gate speech. Perhaps even since the end of World War II.
“What good is “peace through strength” if you don’t use that strength now and again?”
Ask the Houtis.
