ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A suspect is facing charges after a shooting at a market in Jennings.
According to police, the victim was at the counter of a market in the 5200 block of Hamilton Avenue when Tayvion Baker approached him around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police said Baker was armed with a pistol and approached the victim, who had a gun in a holster on his hip underneath his shirt. Baker reportedly grabbed the victim’s gun and stated, “give it to me, I’m finnin to pop you.”
Baker, 23, struggled with the victim, shooting him twice, police said. As the struggle continued, the victim shot Baker. After being shot, Baker ran from the store, and the victim followed him outside while continuing to fire at him.
Baker and the victim were taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to police, Baker’s gun had a switch to make it a machine gun.
Baker is charged with two counts of armed criminal action, attempted robbery, assault, and unlawful possession, transport, manufacture, repair, or sale of an illegal weapon.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Tayvion
Notice this was a failure of Concealed Carry. They victim had his pistol concealed beneath his shirt, but the suspect noticed it was there (unknown at what time or where) and went after it.
Perhaps the pistol printed; perhaps the victim had bragged about it; perhaps the victim had shown it before. It is unknown how the suspect knew it was there.
However, it is clear it was carried as a concealed weapon.
A internet search produced far more persons named Tayvions than I would have expected .
Oh no. He was going back to aspiring rapper school

That’s an important point. Folks have differing opinions, open vs. concealed carry. Concealed carry makes way more sense to me. But as you said mark, better do it right.

I’d like to see Tayvion’s CV.
To make you life happier and more secure...and longer...avoid THEM.
....a good Irish name, I believe....or maybe Scottish....Welsh....??.....
I’m skeptical that this punk detected someone’s semiauto printing under his shirt. Not gonna get into details but he would have had to have been particularly observant...
Much more likely he knew the guy or had some sort of personal info to that effect.
And even then, why haul off and confront him out in a public place like that? Don’t try to rationalize insanity, some say... clearly anyone carrying a handgun equipped with some kinda full auto gizmo is insane or stupid or both.
Just speculation...
Jennings. It’s the I didn’t do nuffn crows.
“avoid THEM”
“MLK BLVD” in any town and any apartment complex ending in the word “Arms” helps with that. 😏

As concealed carry has become common, some of the “tells” are no longer reliable. A person is as likely to touch is phone under his shirt as he is a concealed pistol.
My suspicion, is the carrier was known to carry from previous info. There are so many permutations of motivations, it is extremely difficult to try to understand who did what for what reason.
and “finnin” ...
That’s Tayvion Felonious Smif.

ROTFLOL!
Yeah finnin is not what he said, fin is what he said. It’s a contraction of fixin to make a two syllable word into a one syllable word. He would simply have said fixin as to say Finnic would have taken two syllables which is damn near formal speech.
:)
Carry two make one obvious so the perp will go for it but leave it empty. The other should be well cancelled and loaded.
