When does supersonic become hypersonic?

No HFCS in the rocket fuel.
To: Zuriel
Sugar and KNO3 make a good rocket fuel.
Not even supersonic though.
(at least not mine)

In the Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea TV series such things were said to be for the US to use against the Chinese-—a new and prescient idea for TV series in September 14, 1964, to March 31, 1968.

Mach 5. It’s when the shock wave increases the temperature enough to start generating plasm instead of just hot air.

Just install a dozen tridents with conventional warheads. Instant hypersonic with a good range, no need to get near the Chinese.

A very successful joint program.

I must admit that the modern US Navy is lacking in inspiring names for Weapons systems, and probably the Testosterone needed to think of them.
The universally dreaded Conventional Prompt Strike Missile.
Not to be confused with the Doomsday Prompt Strike Missile and cause hurt feelings.
I wonder how many Trannys are scheduled for their taxpayer paid surgeries on a conventional day in the US Navy?

Meanwhile, Ukraine is using USVs as anti-air, successfully shooting down a Russian SU-30 in real combat.

While the US Navy fields very expensive toys that have never been in combat.

When does supersonic become hypersonic?
When all the news about flight faster than sound becomes hyperbolic. ;)

FACT is that we were first to test hypersonic fighters/spy planes.
The SR-71 was the first, and now reports are that we are about to deploy the SR-72, which can fly at over 3,000 Kilometers P/H, and even at 6.5 times the speed of sound.
Plenty of videos about those things on YouTube.
