European Leaders Reject US Proposal of Russian Sovereignty Over Crimea Despite Russia Controlling the Region for the Last 10 Years

More insanity from the globalist Western European elites.

According to news reports last week, the Trump Administration suggested it was prepared to recognize Russian control over Crimea. This is part of a broader peace agreement that the US has facilitated between Ukraine and Russia.

If elected, President Trump promised to bring peace to Ukraine, but he did not understand that illegitimate President Volodymyr Zelensky and the globalist Western warmongers would be his main obstacles to peace in the region.

Crimea is a peninsula off Ukraine in the Black Sea. In 2014, Russia took control of the region and its ports during the Obama presidency, over ten years ago now. For much of its history Russia has controlled Crimea. Crimea was passed from the Soviet Union to Ukraine in 1994, not that long ago.

According to RT.com and others, the Europeans have rejected this idea.

They did nothing about Crimea for over ten years but suddenly this is a peace deal game-stopper.

How do they think this will play out if they insist on Russia returning Crimea to Ukraine.

RT reported:

European leaders have rejected a US proposal to recognize Russia’s sovereignty over Crimea as part of a draft peace deal on the Ukraine conflict, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. European officials told the outlet that such a move could cause a rift within NATO and force Kiev’s backers to choose between sticking with Ukraine or siding with Washington.

According to the report, US President Donald Trump’s team has presented Ukraine with a take-it-or-leave-it deal that includes Washington formally recognizing Crimea as Russian territory. US Vice President J.D. Vance has also suggested freezing the conflict along the current lines of control.

Crimea was passed from the Soviet Union to Ukraine in 1994, not that long ago”

But in exactl what capacity? I don’t think it was subsumed into merely part of Ukraine. Perhaps more of an administrative arrangement, like other city-states that are “part of” a larger country.

It might be that Russia is re-asserting something that is a-historical, but, I don’t think it is as simple as saying “Russia took over part of Ukraine” in 2014 and therefore they must obviously give it back.....

Before Putin leaned hard into Ukraine, it looked like Putin was going to make Germany very dependent on Russian oil. Now there no way the Russians will have good trade relations with EU which could’ve enriched both sides. The US is probably better off as the EU’s energy supplier and outside of Russia’s orbit. Any Silk Road trade between EU and China going through Russia is probably over.
Let Ukraine and Russia destroy each other by attrition.

Nothing insane about it at all. The USA has never demanded either side of Korea recognises the other; it doesn’t insist that Palestine recognises the occupied territories as Israel, it doesn’t insist that China drop its refusal to recognise Taiwan.

So why should the USA single Ukraine out? Name one other example in American history where the USA defied its own long held doctrine that a UN Charter country that’s had its sovereignty/ territorial integrity violated, shouldn’t EVER have to accept it.

Ask China if America’s ever told it to stop being a dick over Taiwan, and just accept it’s lost.

All Trump is achieving here is fatally undermining his own reputation outside of MAGA territory, while setting the most cretinous, self serving precedent in eighty years.

If Saddam was still alive, he’d be laughing his ass off and revving up the tanks to invade Kuwait again.

This ain’t a recipe for peace, it’s a license for dictatorships to invade their neighbors. Lots more war, everywhere, with Putin and Trump equally looking forward to being able to whip some serious coins out of it.

I think Trump needs to tell them we are no longer interested in being a cats paw for war mongers. We need to withdraw from NATO.

” Now there no way the Russians will have good trade relations with EU which could’ve enriched both sides.”

It also opens the door for oil being used a weapon or weaponized. Only oil sold to friends of the alliance is what the future could look like.

“It might be that Russia is re-asserting something that is a-historical”

Russia has buried a nearly million soldiers in Crimea.

They bought that peninsula with blood.

Crimea was part of Russia proper before Texas (and most states) were part of the US.
