A man has been arrested in connection with dozens of city-owned trees in Los Angeles that were cut down with a chainsaw over the Easter Holiday weekend.

While law enforcement officials had no leads on April 20, some Angelenos were busy posting photos to Reddit and Instagram of all the felled trees downtown.

In photos, trees were seen in pieces at locations including 1st Street and Wilshire Boulevard, Olympic Boulevard and Hope Street, Olympic Boulevard and Figueroa Street, Broadway and Cesar Chavez Avenue, Grand Avenue in front of the Wells Fargo Center and Grand Avenue and 5th Street.

From desert they came.

We will then know that the left was there.

Photos of every piece of every tree, but no one heard an f’ing chainsaw? They’re not hard to track down, when they’re running.

I gotta tell you-this whole thing puzzled me.

At the time I thought “What? Nobody heard the chainsaw in the city? No cameras saw it? No people saw it?”

Large parts of the city are no-man’s lands after working hours. I could completely understand how no one would be around to witness something happening after dark.

There was a homeless guy in Seattle that stole a backhoe. He dug out a flat space in a hillside below an overpass to create a flat space for his campsite. Also a short tunnel into the hill.

When he got caught he said it was a mining claim and covered under some old law! (Well, except he never filed for a mining claim and it was in an interstate right-of-way.)

I'm curious. Where does a homeless man get a chainsaw?
Theft? A gift?
