Don't worry EV's will easily replace gasoline powered cars, NOT!

I’ve driven many miles on fuel produced by that refinery.
and others in CA as well.
I abandoned CA. I hope you guys can produce enough electricity to power your new $60000 dollar cars.
(car plus house house hook up)
CA Democrats can take public transportation.
That is a joke.
I enjoy watching Democrats committing suicide.
I’m old so I won’t have to clean up your bloody mess.

The next logical step (from Kalifornia’s POV) would be to ban or tax through the roof the import of refined petroleum products.

It’s for Muvver Earf after all so no half steppin’.

California embracing the “climate change” lie must be lining a LOT of pockets. It certainly hasn’t benefitted any of it’s taxpayers. I attended UC-Long Beach back in the early 80’s and remember fondly the $5/per credit in-state tuition to keep working on my BA. At that time, every barrel of oil that came out of the ground was subsidizing higher ed, to the tune of $1 per barrel. There were a hell of a lot of lefty idiots that got their coveted UC Berkley degrees courtesy of big oil for the lofty sum of $12 for a full-time, 12 credit semester. People like these sh*t in their own nest, embraced the climate hoax, and have done nothing for anyone else except deliver higher taxes on gas/utilities and tax increases because of the climate credits grift. Great example of “I got mine, how you doin’?

One refinery shut down takes millions of gallons of all types of fuel out of the California market. So they will have to import fuel from other states. Diesel will be a big driver in all this because everything that is purchased from a store is delivered on a diesel truck from groceries to hardware.

Buckle up.

Yes. Chinese EVs will avoid tariffs, according to Gov. Newsom.

PG&E shut the power to our neighborhood off last week for a full day. They said then needed to “upgrade infrastructure.” The power pole at the end of our street got replaced and a HUGE equipment installation was put on top of the pole. It’s far more than a simple transformer replacement. I figure the upgrade was to provide power to charge all the Teslas in the neighborhood. I’m sure all the windmills and solar cells in CA will provide plenty of power to charge all the cars, run the homes, and run industry in CA.

That the regulated utility is forced to bow down to this madness is infuriating. The state is doomed unless it can finally throw one-party rule off its back. But, as somebody said earlier tonight, water is more likely to be running uphill tomorrow morning.

A friend of my dad’s was a civil engineer with Enco (Now Exxon). He worked on a drilling rig off the coast of Santa Barbara in the 1970’s. They drilled the well and found a lot of oil. The State of California ordered the well be capped and the rig to be abandoned.

Oh well.

Wow! Ok this is big. There have been just three huge oil companies that basically control the price of gas in Cali...Chevron, Exxon-Mobil, and Valero. I wonder how this is going to affect the other two brands?

I’ve read that this has happened many times.
We have lots of wells capped and un-used.
Assuming we don’t destroy our refinery base,
we can ramp up pretty quickly.
But don’t tell the treehuggers that!

Oil’s not going anywhere. It’ll still be there, when it’s really needed.

Other States should have the good sense to let CA deal with the shutdown.

By providing fuel other States would be buying in to their stupidity.

I’m not 100% sure but I believe that by law fuel sold in CA have to be refined locally, ie, not imported from another region. Ironic if true that exactly the opposite applies to extraction.
Taxes and fees exceed the cost of refining and the profit on every drop of gasoline sold in the state.
Not good. And they’re killing the goose.
