WASHINGTON — Sen. Chris Van Hollen flew to El Salvador on Wednesday to push for the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia after the mistakenly deported man was not returned by midweek, one of the senator's conditions for embarking on the trip.
Van Hollen said in a video post from a U.S. airport that he was about to board a flight to the country's capital, adding that his goal was show the Trump administration and El Salvador's government "that we are going to keep fighting to bring Abrego Garcia home until he returns to his family."

I am embarrassed to say I am a Marylander.
(How much money did he bring to buy the freedom for the man? )
Who would he pay the money to? Bukele in the White House said to reporters he wasn’t sending him back.
They pick Kilmar as their poster boy because he is a light-skinned El Salvadorean, not someone dark-skinned with lots of facial tattoos.
Arrest that bastard if he smuggled a terrorist back in to the country. Is Bukele even home yet?
His Maryland constituents must be very happy he’s working so hard on their behalf.
You, citizens of the other 49 states, paid for this. CaCaLand has been mooching off Fed tax $$ for decades. We generate nothing except hatred and porn from Silicon Valley.
Keep him there. In fact, encourage more politicos to go on junkets. Especially to dangerous areas. Mebbe he (we) will luck out and martyr himself.
I hope he didn’t bring a wad of Soros’ money to bribe a jail official to let Garcia out.
Yep. What is ridiculous is that this idiot from Congress thinks he can “visit” an inmate at the CECOT facility in El Salvador … he can’t. I doubt they will even let him inside, nor should they.
Don’t throw me in that briar patch.
When you’re on the MS-13 payroll, you do what you’re told.
I saw a post on X of the wife getting a restraint order against him in 2021. He was accused of domestic abuse.
More fake news propaganda.
“Signs are professionally made, not handmade. Someone is funding this.”
Definitely.
Maybe he can do an AOC and stand at the fence of the prison and sob.
Don't you know who he is?!
Yes. Let him get a good dose of 'due process'.
The notion of a trade seems awfully enticing...
Don’t let him back in.
Guess who is in the single IQ meetings.
