The family of a teen who fatally stabbed a 17-year-old boy in Texas plans to use his $400,000 legal defense fund to move home and hire security after facing racist threats.
Anthony, 17, was in court as he faces a first-degree murder charge for the killing of Austin Metcalf, who died in his twin brother Hunter's arms after being stabbed in the heart at a track meet in Frisco earlier this month.
During the hearing, prosecutors asked his father Andrew Anthony why he could not use the more than $415,000 in donated funds for his son's defense to pay the original $1million bond, which was reduced to $250,000 on Monday.

Andrew Anthony said the fund was to be used for Anthony's legal defense. But he also disclosed that the cash would be used for security and to help the family move after the threats they have allegedly faced since the killing.
The revelation comes after a spokesperson for the family said they can't leave their after their address was leaked online, leading to 'graphic and racist threats,' which included images of 'black children with knives stuck in their head.'

Bullshit! He will be out running the streets getting high. But come football season, he will be playing football. Either at the high school level or some elite college on full scholarship while raking in NIL cash.
White liberals.
Why hasn’t the murder victim’s family already fileda civil suit against Karmelo Anthony and his family, (plus any Homeowner’s or Liability Insurance they might have — which might cover harm caused by the policyholders’ minor children), for millions, for wrongful death, etc.? This would tie up the grift; discourage further donations; force depositions from family members about the killer’s prior behavior and statements, his/their level of racial animosity; possibly even get the killer to plead the 5th; etc.
It seems they are the ones who will be sued.
My guess is it’s mostly from white people.
Gonna blow it on a new crib, and large rims.
The father of the murdered teen should sue them
They hit lotto, movin on up
"A neighbor said the family had just bought a new ride.“He got a new car,” the resident told the outlet. “If you look at the license plate, it’s got a paper tag and it says it expires June 4.”
Another neighbor also told the outlet that Anthony’s family is “not poor” if they live in the gated community.
“They’re not poor people. That’s for sure,” he said.
The home has also been getting flooded with deliveries, allegedly for Anthony, with Amazon trucks being seen making multiple drop-offs at his home, the outlet reported.
“The best thing they can do is move,” said another neighbor. “I think that would be best for everyone.” -- NYPost.com, Richard Pollina, Apr. 16, 2025,
