Yeah Janet, I guess that’s what the tariffs help do. Make domestic manufacturing more << Affordable >> for US consumers. As opposed to allowing foreign nations to tariff US manufactured goods and dumping their goods in the US, making US products << less affordable >>. You bought off on that for 30 years now stfu and support America you anti-American sellout!

It is a disgrace this person has been in a high level position affecting policy the way she has. She has eroded Americas way of life through inflation and I'm sure other areas.
A country manufactures or it dies. There is no such thing as a service economy.

Companies will manufacture cheap junk here if it is economically feasible. Cheap junk is a multi billion dollar industry, just ask Walmart and Dollar General. Last time I checked “cheap junk” was not exempt from tariffs.

“Cheap junk is a multi billion dollar industry, just ask Walmart and Dollar General. Last time I checked “cheap junk” was not exempt from tariffs.”
If cheap junk is what people want and is made here, then the money and the jobs stay here. That is what tariffs are about and what Alexander Hamilton wrote about.
And if cheap junk is a multi billion dollar industry, then what is wrong or immoral about it?
Not everyone holds to the lofty standards you obviously adhere to.

If it’s not desirable to have manufacturing, then why are other nations competing against us for manufacturing jobs, and why have these nations been protecting their own industries and manufacturing using tariffs against us?icclearly aka Birdbrain, you are a Free Traitor™ so can you answer that question for us?

It is not necessary that a nation manufacture every thing it consumes
but it is much much better if they do.
Fixed it.

Those corporations moving hundreds of billions of dollars into the U S are not going to manufacture cheap junk. As long as it is subject to the 10% tariff then I am good with that for now.

Bringing back manufacturing jobs is not a desirable goal? Unreal. It’s more desirable that people be on welfare and smoke meth?
