President Donald Trump isn’t playing games with Communist China anymore.
Trump has unleashed a crushing 104% tariff on Communist China, effective immediately.
According to Fox Business, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dropped the bombshell earlier today, confirming that the tariffs kicked in at noon ET. Why? Because China’s commie overlords refused to back down from their own retaliatory duties on American goods.
According to FOX Business Network’s Edward Lawrence, the White House made the move swiftly and decisively.
“White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says 104% additional tariffs went into effect at noon eastern time because China has not removed its retaliation,” Lawrence reported. “The 104% additional tariff will be collected starting tomorrow, April 9th.”

Lawrence added, “Being more clear: When the tariffs go into effect at 12:01a April 9th. China will see an additional 104% added to imports. China missed it’s 12p Eastern Time deadline to remove retaliation tariffs set by President Trump.”

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is throwing a full-blown tantrum, vowing to “fight to the end” after President Donald Trump delivered a righteous ultimatum: retract your outrageous 34% retaliatory tariff on American goods by April 8, or face a devastating 50% tariff wall from the United States starting April 9.
This is the kind of bold leadership America’s forgotten workers have been crying out for—and the CCP can’t handle it.
Last week, President Trump took a sledgehammer to decades of Chinese economic exploitation, slapping a 34% tariff on their imports to level the playing field against Beijing’s suffocating 67% trade barriers.
In typical CCP fashion, instead of negotiating in good faith, China resorted to propaganda, whining about “unilateral bullying” while conveniently ignoring its decades of economic warfare, including slave labor, forced technology transfers, and currency manipulation.
On Monday, Trump dropped the hammer with a fiery Truth Social post.
“Yesterday, China issued Retaliatory Tariffs of 34%, on top of their already record setting Tariffs, Non-Monetary Tariffs, Illegal Subsidization of companies, and massive long term Currency Manipulation…
Therefore, if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th.
Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated! Negotiations with other countries, which have also requested meetings, will begin taking place immediately.”
China, meanwhile, is doubling down on its delusions.
The Ministry of Commerce in Beijing issued a statement dripping with hypocrisy and propaganda, claiming that its retaliatory tariffs are “legitimate” and that America’s efforts are nothing more than blackmail.
According to a Google-translated statement:
“China has noted that on April 7, Eastern Time, the United States threatened to impose a further 50% tariff on China, to which China firmly opposes.
If the U.S. escalates its tariff measures, China will resolutely take countermeasures to safeguard its rights and interests.
The so-called “reciprocal tariffs” imposed by the United States on China are groundless and a typical unilateral bullying practice.
The countermeasures China has taken are to safeguard its sovereignty, security and development interests and maintain the normal international trade order, and are completely legitimate.
The U.S.’s threat to escalate tariffs on China is adding insult to injury and once again exposes the blackmail nature of the U.S., which China will never accept. if the United States insists on having its own way, Chiña will definitely accompany it to the end.
China reiterated that there are no winners in the trade war and there is no way out for protectionism. Pressure and threats are not the correct way to deal with China.
China urges the United States to immediately correct its wrong practices, cancel all unilateral tariff measures against China, stop its economic and trade suppression, and properly resolve differences with China through equal dialogue on the basis of mutual respect.”
This is a developing story. Please check back for more updates.
Does Rand Paul back President Trump in this effort or are his words hollow when he calls President Trump the Best Foriegn Policy President in generations?
“The countermeasures China has taken are to safeguard its sovereignty, security and development interests and maintain the normal international trade order, and are completely legitimate”
Just like we can do as a sovereign nation commie. FAFO at its best! We don’t need their cheap junk.
Looks like China going to be a trade war.
The US will suffer greatly in the short term as we have become dependent on products from China. Trump has to know that there will be an immediate pain. Further, we will have to bring home medications and many medical device manufacturing back to the US. Likely, new factories here will have to be dependent mostly on robotic production.
Invention is the Child of Necessity. We may be seeing the next ‘industrial revolution’ being born from the great tariff crisis of 2025.
So, when the tariffs reach 200% with each other, we basically stop trading with China?
I don’t know why but this Made me laugh out loud
Now is where Xi decides to continue tariff wars or move toward something harmful to both the US AND the CCP, such as symbolically trying to dump US Treasury debt holdings. China holds something near but less than a trillion of these, out of our total 36 trillion national debt. I think them dumping it hurts them more long term tho.
Great. Hopefully businesses pull out of China and move to Korea, Vietnam, and back to the USA.
Ho Lee Fuk
The CCP susidizes all industry. So the tariff on their exports can be paid by the CCP, for a while. Would it be such a bad thing if we stop trading with our enemies?
Methinks, this very public embarrassment puts the CCP in a corner, and they will have to do something very rash to maintain their tenuous control over the country, something like invading Taiwan.
So be it..
Sorry, the way I look at it the crises was doing nothing.
The quality of Chinese products has always sucked ass.
It’s high time they stopped being single point supplier for anything we need.....ESPECIALLY prescription medications.
Puerto Rico already has the infrastructure for drug manufacturing. Ramp that up and it’s a win/win for the US.
Take that, yuh Devil Worshipin, Satanic inspired, Kommies....
My thoughts as well.
Hopefully cooler minds prevail.
This is how Godless countries react (even some Christian based countries [see Germany WWII]).
We would have to outlaw private equity to make that happen, these firms are hell bent to deindustrialize the west via "Climate Change".
FAFO works both ways. I care less about Chicom cheap garbage but America needs to learn how to make ships, chips and medicine again. American Taxes and regulations are also killing the country.
Agree. They will do something rash to save face.
