Russia says it won’t accept US cease-fire proposal ‘in its current form’ in sign Ukraine peace talks may have stalled

Russia is taking US proposals for a cease-fire in Ukraine “seriously” but can’t accept the deal as it stands, a senior Russian diplomat said Tuesday — suggesting peace talks between the two countries have stalled.

“We take the models and solutions proposed by the Americans very seriously, but we can’t accept it all in its current form,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said, according to state media.

“As far as we can see, there is no place in them today for our main demand, namely to solve the problems related to the root causes of this conflict. It is completely absent, and that must be overcome,” Ryabkov said.

The comments, which were given to Russian magazine International Affairs, suggest the US and Russia haven’t been able to bridge the difference that President Vladimir Putin cited last month when he insisted the US-backed proposal needed to be reworked.

Mucus is like a demon, whispering negative and inflammatory words in everyone's ear for the last 3 years.

Russia says it won’t accept US cease-fire proposal

With most US military aid stopped, Russians have the advantage on the battlefield, so why would they stop invading Ukraine?

Peace is only possible when Ukraine agrees to abide by its constitution and remain politically neutral toward Russia and concedes all annexed territory to Russia, which is absolutely the will of the people living there.

You got it half right - Trump's time is being wasted. It's being wasted by Zelensky.

Trump needs to tell Zelensky to resign and that all aid will be cutoff to Ukraine until someone replaces him is willing to end the war.

Why is Trump trying to dictate what a peace should look like — rather than simply getting us out of there and letting the EU election fraudsters save Zelensky?

All this nonsense to detract PJDT from important America First agenda. I wish he’d just walk away from it.

Ukraine was neutral and wasn’t interested in joining NATO until after Russia tried to assassinate their presidential candidate, and invaded Georgia, and downed a plane full of Polish diplomats and politicians, and spent 2 years trying to blackmail Ukraine out of choosing to be in the EU instead of the Russian backed alternative.

Since being neutral didn’t help Ukraine, they’re not going to fall for that Kremlin bullshit again.

I vote for your plan. If neither side want peace, let them fight until there is a victor.

Putin says he’s open to ceasefire, but wants to eliminate ’causes of this crisis’ (Mar 13, 2025)

https://thehill.com/policy/international/5193355-russia-ukraine-ceasefire-proposal/

“We agree with the proposals to halt the fighting, but we proceed from the assumption that the ceasefire should lead to lasting peace and remove the root causes of the crisis,” Russia’s president said.

Putin also thanked President Trump “for paying so much attention to the settlement in Ukraine,” according to The Associated Press.

I am not a Putin fan, but Z man is totally dishonest with everyone. And the EU bureaucraps will never agree to a peace agreement.

Item in the article.

Every year, pre war, Russia has done a conscription in the Spring/Summer. They have universal conscription and have for decades. Conscripts serve 1 year to be trained in things military and then they are returned to private life, but retained in the inactive Reserves.

This announcement of 160K is not a response to war or casualties. It is annual since long before the war.

What DOES point at adding troops to the front line is the word “mobilization”. That is when the enormous pool of Reserves accumulated over the many years has some segment tapped for active duty. To date Russia has used what they call “partial mobilization” (meaning the entire pool of millions of Reservists were not called to active duty).

“Putin has been deliberately wasting President Trump’s time and patience for the past 3 months.”

Ukraine waited too long to make a deal. Putin isn’t going stop when he’s taking land this easily and quickly. Putin is now busy winning his preparation for negotiation, he’s in control and that’s why Trump is upset.

The illegal coup installed a government hostile to Moscow and the ethnic Russian population in Ukraine. Those coming to power most CERTAINLY WERE NOT NEUTRAL TOWARD RUSSIA.

Only a liar or idiot would even to attempt to make that claim.
