Peter Navarro, a senior trade adviser to President Trump, said the president’s tariff plan will raise more than $6 trillion in federal revenue over the next decade.
Navarro joined “Fox News Sunday,” where host Shannon Bream noted that Americans are concerned that Trump’s tariffs are going to raise the price of everyday goods.
“First of all, we’re going to raise about $100 billion with the auto tariffs alone. What we’re going to do is, in the new tax bill that has to pass, it absolutely has to pass, we’re going to provide tax benefits, tax credits, to the people who buy American cars,” Navarro began. “This is a genius thing that President Trump promised on the campaign trail. So that’s going to happen.”
“In addition, the other tariffs are going to raise about $600 billion a year, about $6 trillion over a 10-year period, and we’re going to have tax cuts,” he continued. “It’s the biggest tax cut in American history for the middle class, for the blue collar.”

Peter Navarro ran for office 6 times as a democrat. So says Josh Rogan in “Chaos Under Heaven”. Is he a Kamikaze democrat or a Manchurian republican?
The response: There shall be wars and rumors of wars. The Democrats will hate Russia even after cheering for Russia against Reagan. Long-time Bama fans will support an Auburn coach for Senate. And the Democrats will actually hate a tax.
Disciples: Master, how can this be?
The response: Simple: Russia will quit being communist. And the tax the Democrats hate will be the one that non-Americans have to pay.
No government has a 10 year plan.
Bonkers.
Tariffs are designed to discourage purchase of certain products due to origin.
Yet Navarro is saying those purchases will continue apace and that alternatives will not emerge...the desired political outcome.
He’s full of sh!t.
Peter was a California professor. Like Elon, Tulsi, RFK and Trump himself, Peter was a democrat. Everything democrats stood for was thrown out. If you are a small government republican you can united with a pro-peace, pro-American democrat and libertarians to produce a republican party that nixes Neocons and Corp/government corruption that used to find a home in the republican party.
One of my favorite quotes from Trump’s inaugural address was the “External Revenue Service” one:
“I will immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families. Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens. (Applause.)
For this purpose, we are establishing the External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs, duties, and revenues. It will be massive amounts of money pouring into our Treasury, coming from foreign sources.”
Yet Navarro is saying those purchases will continue apace and that alternatives will not emerge...the desired political outcome.
He’s full of sh!t.
Yup. Hearing what Navarro said, I was thinking what you are thinking.
Whether you think tariffs are good or bad, it’s worthwhile realizing that tariffs are paid mostly by Americans. So a big chunk of that 6 trillion is coming from the pocket of Americans that buy those imported goods.
Some of is paid by the exporters as they lower their prices to try to offset the increase in price from the tariffs.
Navarro is a great American, unlike you.
We finally found a tax (tariff) that Democrats hate!!!
$6T over ten years.
Couch cushion money. Our debt remedy must be bigger and faster than that.
It is not a straight line o deficit chicken hawk. The tariff may take in more in the beginning and lesson as we start making things here again. I know that thought bothers you but WHO CARES?
$6T over 10 years is $600B/yr. That is straighline. Probably it is higher in the early years and tapers in the ending years.
Lutnick’s been saying he’ll raise $1T a year with them. (To go with Musk’s $1T cuts.)
peter has all the right enemies
d.c. and here

these narrative control cubicle cucks assigned to this board actually make the propaganda easier to spot.

Who ultimately pays for corporate income taxes? You Rush Limbots know the answer to that.
So you are arguing tariffs will not generate any Fedral revenue over 10 years?
Tariffs raise revenue — unless they are successful. Then they raise no revenue.
A consumer cannot pay the new price. If he somehow does, then you have gov’t revenue. If he does not then you do not.
As to driving production back to the US, the whole reason it left the US was price of labor. China was low labor costs.
I suspect the eventual reality will be the products will just cease to be produced. Anywhere. People won’t buy at the higher price and if it is not a necessity, they won’t buy at all.
