Donald Trump said he was “p---ed off” with Vladimir Putin and threatened new sanctions against Russia as attempts to negotiate a Ukraine ceasefire stalled.
The US president voiced his frustration during an interview in which he also threatened to bomb Iran if Tehran did not reach a nuclear deal with Washington.
Mr Trump’s remarks came as he prepared to accelerate his global trade war on Wednesday – “Liberation Day” – when he will implement sweeping tariffs on imports. Sir Keir Starmer has drawn up retaliatory tariffs, The Telegraph understands.
Mr Trump is growing frustrated with efforts to end the war in Ukraine, which he promised to do within 24 hours of entering office.
He said said he was “very angry, p---ed off” with his Putin demanding that Volodymyr Zelensky be replaced with a transitional government as the price for peace negotiations.
The US president threatened to introduce “secondary tariffs” on Russian energy exports, targeting countries that buy Russian oil and gas with sanctions, if talks did not progress.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault – which it might not be – but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” he added.

Trump needs to chit-chat with W about how to handle Pooty-Poot.
Meanwhile…
[EXCERPT]
Meanwhile, the Russian defence ministry claimed to have captured two Ukrainian villages – Shchebraki, in the southern Zaporizhzhia region, and Panteleimonivka, in the eastern Donetsk region.
Ukraine also accused Russia of committing a “war crime” after it attacked a military hospital in the city of Kharkiv.
….
Ukraine has accused Russia of prolonging talks with no intention of halting its offensive.
“For too long now, America’s proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table without an adequate response from Russia,” Mr Zelensky said in his evening address on Saturday.
As long as there is Zelensky, there will be no peace agreement.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is all public maneuvering, to craft public’s awareness. In at least 3 places, perhaps many more: US, Moscow, Kiev.
Hard to imagine much if anything happening today that is ad-hoc, in real-time.
Horsefarts, Trump does fine with Putin. Zelensky is his problem because he is the puppet for the EU at the moment and they have made it clear that they want the war to continue.
What the HELL does that mean?
He doesn't own Putin and Putin doesn't own him.
Let’s modify that — as long as there are Putin AND Zelensky, there will be no peace.
RE: He doesn’t own Putin and Putin doesn’t own him.
So? What does that have to do with being pi*** off?
One can feel this way without owning anyone.
RE: Trump does fine with Putin
So, you’re saying that the quote about Trump being p***sed off at Putin is fake news?
Simple question for the Zeepers: Why didn’t BIDEN impose Secondary Sanctions on countries that buy Russian Oil - after all, those ‘sanctions’ were there for the taking?
(be funny if any of them know the answer)
Let’s say that Biden ( or those making decisions for him ), DID impose secondary sanctions on Russia, what would have happened?
Take reports with a grain of salt. Trump is walking a tight rope. Let’s see how this works out.
The chances of getting rid of Zelensky is far easier than unseating Putin.
Zelensky is already no longer the elected leader.
Who really wants to sign a peace agreement with a person who is illegitimate? The peace agreement could be declared illegitimate also.
We don’t have to be fair and balanced here. We just want the US out of Ukraine. If they want to keep fighting that is up to them to decide.
It is a proxy war and it was lost a long time ago. Time to get out.
“Let’s say that Biden ( or those making decisions for him ), DID impose secondary sanctions on Russia, what would have happened?”
I’ll answer for you in a bit - I still want to see if any of the Zeepers are able to get the right answer.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated his claim that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is “illegitimate” and said that he has no right to sign any documents in potential peace negotiations, according to an interview with the state TV channel Rossiya 1 broadcast on Jan. 28.
“Negotiations can be held with anyone,” Putin said. “But due to (Zelensky’s) illegitimacy he has no right to sign anything. If (Zelensky) wants to take part in talks, I will delegate people who will conduct such talks. But the (key) issue is the ultimate signing of the documents.”
I smell Putins friends involvement here, it’s Name is Hillary
Heh, we can’t say why that is. Actually, Trump could do it. What a true mess for some that would be.
He might be pissed off. But you aren’t gonna get Russia to sign off on these one sided deals we keep pushing.
We finally encountered an actual red line.
We offer them no end of sanctions, no unfreezing of all their stolen property, gold and currency, no repair of the Nordstream we blew up. We offer no restoration of SWIFT, nothing. And it’s super obvious that the neo-nazi movement will still reign supreme in Kiev and that the minute there is a cease-fire we will flood Ukraine with tens of thousands of NATO soldiers, jets, missiles, etc.
As Trump himself put it, he doesn’t have any cards. The best card he mentions is putting sanctions on anyone who buys Russian oil. So basically start sanctions on China, India, Turkey, the EU, Brazil, Czech Republic, Singapore, etc.
And to make matters worse, the Kiev government will remain Galician nazi, they will get defense pacts, and Russian cash will be used to rebuild them.
In short, the DC/London/Brussels axis will get a breather and have their goals met. And they want that for nothing in return.
We will see how it goes.
RE: Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated his claim that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is “illegitimate
So, he wasted our time sending our delegates to Saudi Arabia to talk to his delegates.
He should have told Trump that he doesn’t recognize Zelensky to speak for Ukraine from the beginning. Instead, he hear Trump telling us that they had a good conversation.
