LINK: Elon Musk And DOGE Team Interview With FNC's Bret Baier
I watched this interview and was impressed enough to start a thread, something I don't often do, never mind twice in a day.
At the close of the interview, when DOGE members were asked if they thought it was a duty, I swelled with admiration for them.
You could read it in their body language, the animation of their eyes, and the instant change in demeanor in all of them at the same time, and the bobbing of their heads. They are doing it for just that purpose, including Musk. They all recognize clearly the survival of our Republic is at hand. Action has to be taken. And that team is clearly composed of those who act.
Suddenly, the thought occurred to me: "If this Republic survives and prospers, they will make books and movies about this DOGE."
And in that instant it felt quite true.
Looking at that team, none of them seemed unusual in their appearance. They looked like someone you worked with. But when you watched and listened to them speak, you could instantly understand they were zeroed in on what they were doing. They are good minds being put to good uses.
Those men seemed to all feel the anger at being defrauded by the ineptitude and waste of their own government. They all nodded their head grimly when certain things were said, seeming nearly personally offended by a system that was penalizing (via its corruption and inefficiency) those very people it should have been serving. And seeing their expressions on their faces (which in other circumstances might have been mistaken for simple wonder, but in these circumstances, were so far beyond professional amazement that they did appear to have looks of wonder) were asked about "The Cave", the federal facility that handles retirement related things.
They couldn't believe that it was still being run that way. In the 21st Century.
It seems remarkable to me that the members of this team would leave their lives of accomplishment in their fields to go to work at DOGE.
If our country survives, I believe it will be because of this team of smart, balanced men, who want to give back to the country they have gotten so much out of.
I believe that if America survives, this is right now, a turning point in our history just as surely as 1775 was another turning point all those years ago. I didn't feel at all that Musk was being frivolous, nor any of his team when I heard the word "Revolution" come out of Musk's mouth, it was quite authentic.
Keep in mind that the "revolution" Musk and DOGE are embracing is an internecine match within the American political system between Left and Right, and the arena is going to be bound by the confines of the Constitution. When the other side utters that word "revolution", they sure as hell don't mean that. But I take comfort in knowing we do, or at least more then they do.
And yes-100 years from now, DOGE will be a movie. (or, whatever movies turn into in 100 years!)
I know that people say we are living in history ALL the time, but that seems as flat to me as saying your current instant in time (that may be completely mundane and boring) defines you. Well of course it doesn't.
There is a lot going on right now, and we are watching these patriots come in, giving up their lucrative careers to try to start the process of slowing the plunge towards national dissolution. (By the way, I hope nobody thinks I am being hyperbolic by using the word "dissolution". Being $37 trillion in debt, increasing by another trillion each ninety days, and racking up expenses North of $600 Billion annually on service the debt alone...I think I can hardly be hyperbolic in saying that.)
I, for one, am hoping these DOGE people work something out. They are going to face into the problem squarely on our behalf, in public, in the open, shining a light so everyone can see. I want to see them succeed.
I am a great fan of Churchill. One of his most famous quotes came just after the British had defeated the Germans at El Alamein. I is an amazing line, and it seems so appropriate with the dynamic we hope to see with DOGE as they help put on the brakes.
Churchill said about the course of the war: Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
I like to imagine that our nation can stop the headlong rush off a cliff of debt and deindustrialization (that our own government, like a millstone around our necks, will cheerfully and remorselessly drag us down with it as it goes willingly over that cliff. I would like to think that can happen. (I try to be optimistic about these things.)
That we can restore sanity and responsibility to the way this country is run is a worthy goal. It's worth pursuing because any thinking person can look at what is going on today, and realize this isn't sustainable. It. Must. Be. Addressed.
I hope DOGE can help us see this is not the end of poor or corrupt governance. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
Well said!
It is a good watch. I am sure there will be more fraud uncovered but like most, I am waiting for punishment for the perps.
And the answer to all of this from the left is obstruction via lawsuits via judge-shopped courts.
Any movie made with be titled in all caps, “TRUMP”.
Without Trump, there is no DOGE. Zip, nothing.
Any movie made WILL be titled in all caps, “TRUMP”.
Without Trump, there is no DOGE. Zip, nothing.
Better yet,
“TRUMP The American Renaissance”
You can do both.
There was
The Buddy Holly Story
AND
LaBamba
DOGE brings together an ad-hoc group of businessmen under the leadership of the foremost innovator and entrepreneur of out time, and they figure out how to save 1 TRILLION dollars in two months time!
heh, that was my thought as well…the more the better…:)
That was the thing that I saw-the amazement that kept reappearing on their faces-that the government could be run so…well…actually not run at all if it were compared to even the most feeble business in the real world which would go out of business immediately.
Don’t defy or dodge the DOGE dog’s disquisition!
Of course they’ll make a movie about DOGE, on account of it was as squad of black lesbians that came to the country’s rescue. Heck, it’s a lock. Imagine if they were all white guys? They’d call DOGE racist…
Hahahahahaha...of course they would!
Clever alliteration that! Nicely done!!
Thanks. For some reason it started rolling around in my head. I kept tweaking it until it finally turned into what I wrote.
