Any thoughts on how this will go ?
He’s playing nice or the source created the headline to make Trump’s stance appear weak.
I absolutely support it, but I don’t know if there is any precedent in American History for such a request from the SCOTUS. The easiest thing for Chief Justice Roberts to do, if there is no precedence, would be issue no opinion on the request, then to kick the can back down to any decision made in the lower courts. That would delay the inevitable by a couple of years (would be Robert’s fervent hope).
Asking SCOTUS for permission to do anything is ludicrous!!!!!!
DO IT!!!!
They have no authority over the Executive branch.
We can’t afford to go wobbly. Trump appears to be recognizing the courts’ authority to a degree that makes me just a little bit uncomfortable. Roberts speaks louder by the minute, though, and I don’t like that.
Again, whatever TH happened to separation of powers?
Asking SCOTUS for permission???
OR-——HE IS TROLLING THE USSC TO LET THEM WAKE UP & STOP EMBARRASSING THEMSELVES-—
OR HE WILL DEFY THEM COMPLETELY
Agree!!
Yeah. I don’t like it but willing to let it play out. The public has Trump’s back and so does the Congress. If the SC screws this up they will be so damaged that Trump will be able to run roughshod over them. Once they lose credibility, they won’t get it back.
I hope I’m wrong but with Roberts and Barrett I don’t expect a good outcome.
Then what is Trump going to do? What’s his plan B?
And we continue to pray......
God has done amazing things in the last few months, from Trump winning the election to him hitting the ground running on Inauguration Day.
I hope we can use this reprieve that God has given us wisely. I suspect that if we squander this chance it may be our last.
