Now find out who’s been cashing the checks.

I keep reading that it is unclear how many, if any, were actually getting checks. It’s just another data field so why is it unclear?

It doesn’t say they are receiving benefits and cashing checks. I think there are many on the roles who just haven’t been purged yet. It would be interesting to know how many 100+ years old are actually getting benefits.

Maybe, but as Musk has pointed out, that ID can be used as the gateway to many other Federal services, or to vote, etc.

This must be cleaned up immediately.

Why would they claim such a birth date?

That bothers me, too. We keep seeing that gov’t software programs are way out of date. Maybe there’s some unresolved issue there.

It is said that this is the result of a default set in old programming language.

It may just be a silly bookkeeping error - as long as no one is getting those checks.

If seven million “120 year olds” are getting checks that are really going to the DNC, now THAT would be a big problem.

I wonder if these false records could somehow be used for illegal voting.

“It’s just another data field so why is it unclear?”

You’d think so. Why didn’t Musk and company wait until that “another data field” was added to the analysis before producing their report?

Old programming language.

When the "year" field is left blank, COBOL defaults to "1875".

That makes sense.

(When I was still working, there was a government form my office had to fill out every year. It wasn’t until around 2018 or so that they even had the form as a writable pdf available online; I was filling it out for years on an old IBM Selectric.)

Was listening passively to radio yesterday, dont remember the program or guest. Might have been Treasury sec. Anyway, gov system was old mainframe. Congress funded conversion to modern system in maybe 1992, and the consultants are still getting paid every year, and the conversion is still not done. I think it was the IRS.

Trump tweeted about DOGE finding things that will make every blue state red, anout a month ago. I think they will purge about 20 million dead/illegal people from voter rolls and destroy the Dems cheating machine.

“When the “year” field is left blank, COBOL defaults to “1875”.”

What Is COBOL and How Does It Handle Dates?
COBOL, one of the oldest programming languages, doesn’t have a built-in “date” data type. Instead, programmers store dates in whichever format they prefer, often using numeric character strings. For example, it’s common to store dates as 6-digit strings like “YYMMDD” (e.g., 230526 for May 26, 2023). There’s no default date value in COBOL. If a date is missing or not initialized, the system will usually show an error or use whatever placeholder the programmer sets.

Musk debunked that old myth.
