But while Assembly Bill 379 might make it easier for the law to identify abusers, it will make transactional moments on the street even more dangerous for sex workers, queer youth and people of color
It would make life hell for California Democrat child predators like Senator Scott Weiner

it will make transactional moments on the street even more dangerous for sex workers, queer youth and people of colorSo their standpoint is that queer youth and POC disproportionately trade sex for something of value. And apparently no straight white folks do at all... or maybe it just isn't important if straight whites are put in more danger?

“...sex workers, queer youth and people of color”
Not surprised that these are who the dems are willing to go to bat for. Don’t see it as a vote-winning strategy myself, but who am I to doubt their wisdom.

There have been prostitutes forever.
I wish I had a solution. When I spent time in Australia, I was astounded by the open ads for sex in the Australian version of a rural “supershopper” type paper.
I do not have a solution, but prostitution has long been both illegal and common in the USA.

“”””which would have made it a serious felony to solicit anyone under the age of 18 for sex in return for compensation.””””
The guy being seduced on the sidewalk is the one soliciting sex for pay?
While street hookers in America are almost entirely ugly and disgusting, in some countries they are attractive and seductive. Cops can’t or won’t control the hookers but will make sex offender felons of the males who fall for the bait.

There seems to be less crime against the girls where it’s legal.
I’m not advocating...just saying.

Just saying what?
Under 18 year old prostitutes are acceptable in your community
Sex trafficking of minors is acceptable in your community
Illegal aliens bringing minor children into you community for prostitution is acceptable
Your kids having to walk by street walkers to get to school in you community is acceptable
Not in my community and I will fight it and the Democrats pushing hard

California passed a “10 year gap” law that, to put it in simple terms, made it legal for a 24 year old man to engage in relations with a 14 year old girl. Then the gay lobby got angry and said it was discrimination, so they amended the law to allow 24 year old men to engage with 14 year old boys. This place (California) went nuts. Nobody should be touching 14 year old kids at all and most especially not grown men. And yet it’s legal. But it’s illegal if you buy the kid a milkshake after the defilement?

Why are queer youth having transactional moments on the streets?
That's juvenile prostitution.
They are so disgusting.

Paradoxically, it's illegal in the state capitol. I guess the politicians don't like the competition...

Well, if you legalize burglary, assault, mugging, rape, murder, embezzlement, money laundering, arson and driving to endanger, you’d bring the crime rate down quite a bit.
To: ssfromla
Why are queer youth having transactional moments on the streets? No company can hire a minor below 15. If they've been thrown out or escaped their options to get a meal are rather limited.

Legal in a regulated brothel only. That’s why less crime, they have security and protocols.
