PATERSON, N.J. ( — A Paterson police officer has drawn attention for wearing a Palestinian flag patch on his official uniform, raising questions about the appropriateness of displaying foreign national symbols while in service with a U.S. based law enforcement agency.
Officer Adeeb Iqnies, who has served with the Paterson Police Department for three years, appeared in a video interview proudly displaying the Palestinian flag and speaking about his heritage. “I’m a Palestinian who loves my country as well as Palestine,” Iqnies said.

Islamic police officers are approved in New Jersey...
A foot in the door...
Absolutely not the same. For all of the bad connotations the Stars and Bars may recall, it is AMERICAN. Not like a foreigner parading his little flag of a fake nation in an AMERICAN town.
Fire him, he’s a liar. There is no Palestinian people, there is no Palestine country. Kick him off the force now!
It’s a political statement. Fire him.
Conservative officers have been fired for speaking out on important issues while in uniform - he needs to go.
My point was is Palestine an actual country??
Okay. Your statement was confusing.
DEI decisions haven’t gotten to Jersey yet?
It might be part of their recruiting campaign.
Better he show his true colors than hide behind a uniform.
You know, "freedom of expression".
In a hurry.
Would any dare to wear a MAGA patch?
That is not going to happen. Now, if it was a Confederate Flag...........
If the Citizens of New Jersey don’t give a shit. And obviously don’t. Or he would not be there.
No. They would be gone in a hurry.
I’m betting he’s breaking the department’s uniform rules. He represents the police department, not Palestine. That flag isn’t part of his paycheck.
I bet that's not listed in the formal Dress Code requirement for Secret Service Agents. His superior needs to have a talk with him. An American flag pin might be allowed, but anything personal like a tranny flag pin isn't part of the paycheck. If you want to wear it off duty, that's one thing, but not on what is perceived as your "uniform" required to do your job.
This circumstance is the product of a weak chief of police operating in an atmosphere of no support from the elected officials of the municipality. Uniforms need to be “uniform.” Period. This department’s management is not in control of its officers or its internal personnel policies. Their internal disciplinary practices are likely not being controlled by the chief.
