SF Pride faces financial difficulties after losing 5 corporate sponsors

SF Pride, the nonprofit that puts on the annual parade and two-day street fair, is facing financial difficulty after a handful of corporate sponsors have pulled their financial support.

Suzanne Ford, its executive director, said she's looking for other companies and people to sponsor the annual pride celebration, concerned that more sponsors may pull out.

Pride weekend is a highly anticipated annual celebration in San Francisco.

"I like to watch the parade. Often do things with friends. Come here to the Castro and stroll around," said Ryan Jones, a San Francisco resident and co-owner of Hot Cookie, a popular shop in the Castro.

But SF Pride said five corporate sponsors have pulled out after years of supporting the annual celebration.

They include Comcast, Anheuser-Busch, Diageo, an alcoholic beverage company that makes many popular brands, including Johnny Walker and Guinness, and La Crema, a wine company owned by Jackson Family Wines.

Guess Anheuser Busch has had enough of engaging in the culture wars. Can’t imagine what turned them around on this

How much money do you need to have a parade?

Every small to medium town across American has a 4th of July parade without a dozen corporate sponsors.

I guess it has to be “fabulous!”

Is gay still considered edgy and special? Maybe all this gay business has gone so mainstream, that corporate sponsors don’t see the need for virtue signaling?

“SF Pride faces financial difficulties after losing 5 corporate sponsors”

...and the BIG ONE, that being USAID.

Trump winning the popular vote changed so much.

And winning it by carpet bombing that Kamala pro-trangender ad was a wake-up call to the woke.

Good point.

Why is the need for corporate sponsors in the first place?

Everybody can gather and have their parade without sponsorship.

It costs very little money to put on a parade, if volunteers simply gather together and have a parade, in favor of whatever cause they’re pushing.

Maybe there was some slush funding activity with corporate donations. Maybe corporations felt the need to virtue signal by pushing homosexuality. But now they don’t feel that need so strongly anymore.

I’d suspect the sponsors were spending taxpayer money via USAID in past years.

Are the corporations that were taken hostage by the trans-cult slowly one-by-one escaping their captors?

Ford said the city is a magical place for the LGBTQ community, and that it's important to maintain that luster.

The article makes it sound like a county fair with pie baking contests and rides for the kids. Has the reporter actually seen a Pride Parade? Even most gay people who I know find them disgusting and the sexual libertinism severely outdated.

Years ago I happened to be in San Francisco on the day when they had their parade. I thought it was disgusting. Men dressed up like bar girls in the old west days, men walking around with their genitalia exposed, and people watching from the side of the street with their small children. This was in the days before poop all over town. I don’t go there much anymore.

We can only hope so. People are getting absolutely sick of them. Their “victim card” is long worn out.

Perhaps some of the clear truths about that lifestyle will finally be allowed to be published.
