When Jimmy Carter bought the teachers' union's endorsement in 1979 by creating the Department of Education, the USA was #1 in education worldwide. Today, 46 years later, the USA is #40 in education. We are, however, #1 in per pupil cost. Any questions?

If the teachers’ union train left the train station at 8 AM heading to the edge of the cliff, and the U.S. debt train left its station at 8:15 AM heading to a different cliff, which one crashes and burns first?

Whew, I was getting nervous...it had been about 5 minutes since I’d seen/heard “gutted”.

“low-income students and those with disabilities who rely on federal funding”

So how were programs funded before 1979? Those programs predate the DOE by decades.

There’s a whole bunch of folks out here in the hinterlands who are getting more and more aggravated with all this stupidity.
Surely it’s time for SCOTUS to get heavily involved...
Amazes me that, from 2020 to 2024, FedJudges passed on nearly ALL suits by Trump advocates, without looking at case detail. Instead, in the vast majority of cases, the judge found the plaintiffs to have ‘no standing’ to bring the suit(s).
Since November, 2024, I don’t think ‘standing’ has entered into ANY of the new suits.
More evidence of the faux jurisprudence of our current court system. We should be impeaching judges by the dozens, at this point.

“The group, led by New York’s Letitia James”

I think it’s high time for Letitia to be investigated don’t you? We have countless videos of her running for AG on the campaign of “getting Trump” “Oh I’m gonna get him, I’m gonna get Trump” to quote Letitia.

Is this acceptable justice today? Going after someone with absolutely no cause other than disliking the person?

If the courts were honest they would throw this out for lack of standing.

The group, led by New York’s Letitia James, sued the administration in a Massachusetts federal court, saying that the dismissals were “illegal and unconstitutional.”

How so? The last time I checked, Article II, Section 1, Clause 1 left it up to the POTUS.

How about come up with a different way to raise test scores if you don’t like what Trump is doing...handing it back to the states? Take your idea to the people and win elections with it. Whining, complaining, suing, bitching, protesting...... I am so sick of these guys. STFU.

Why is james not in shackles?

Classify everything in DOE or related and she can't even view it.

The white house put into place a Loser Pays order. If someone sues the administration, they have to put up a bond for the asked amount.

The link in the NY Times article indicates the firings were actually done Tuesday night.

I had not seen confirmation on this until now.

Great news!

Letitia James.

Why does she hold a grudge against Trump?

She along with most democrat leaders, made Trump’s presidency happen. She should be welcoming that which she helped to create.

She’ll be causing another republican presidency, if she keeps it up.

Good job, Letitia. Keep it up..

If someone sees Roberts at The Bank of Malta with a fat briefcase we’ll know we’re screwed.

$4.1 TRILLION spent by Dept of Education since its creation.

What did we get for that staggering amount of money? Worse performance, fewer engineers and scientists, but lots of people graduating in “Studies,” “DEI,” and “Grievances.”
