According to the foreign minister, under no conditions will Russia tolerate the presence of NATO troops as peacekeepers on Ukrainian soil
MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. The potential deployment of NATO troops under any flag and in any capacity on Ukrainian soil would pose a threat to Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told US bloggers Mario Nawfal, Larry Johnson and Andrew Napolitano in an interview.
"If NATO expansion is recognized, at least by [US President] Donald Trump as one of the root causes then the presence of the troops from NATO countries under any flag, in any capacity, on Ukrainian soil is the same threat," the minister maintained.
According to Lavrov, under no conditions will Russia tolerate the presence of NATO troops as peacekeepers on Ukrainian soil. Not "under any conditions," he said when asked to comment on the initiative.
"Nobody is talking to us. They keep saying nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine but they do everything about Russia without Russia," the diplomat expressed regret. "[US President Donald] Trump, by the way, when asked about peacekeepers he said, well, it's too early to discuss this, but normally you need the consent of the parties. Why should we give consent to the peacekeeping force or peacekeeping group even, not force? So they want force, composed of the countries who declared us an enemy and they would come as peacekeepers?" Russia’s top diplomat asked rhetorically.
In a televised address to the nation on March 5, French President Emmanuel Macron said that France would host a meeting of military chiefs from a number of European countries that support Kiev to discuss a potential deployment of European troops in Ukraine. On March 4, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, said that Moscow is categorically against this idea.
They didn’t fight a war to keep Ukraine out of NATO and NATO out of Ukraine, just to see NATO troops stationed in Ukraine, regardless that they may call themselves “peacekeepers.”

Larry sent a report on this interview. I had no idea he or the judge had such contacts. I’m too slow to report details but Larry Johnson, former CIA agent is on Russian died of the Ukraine war.
Lavrov= Common Sense. Good to see President Trump’s administration talking with him.

The hour long interview is very different from what our corrupted MSM spews. For those that suffer from the Russian Derangement Syndrome, this MAY cure your affliction.
Common sense.

Yes, I knew this was going to happen when the UK, France, and Germany tried to slip in the back door under a false label. The outcome is exactly the same. I don’t know who they thought they were going to fool with that one... Russia is not stupid. They are probably offended that they even tried to pull this off.
A NATO presence of any sort in Ukraine is a non starter for Russia. Akin to Chinese troops stationed in Canada and Mexico.
after all, we didn’t have a problem with Russia putting peacekeepers in “cuber”, as Kennedy pronounce it. right?
Thanks for posing
Maybe we need to do away with Nato.
“after all, we didn’t have a problem with Russia putting peacekeepers in “cuber”, as Kennedy pronounce it. right?”
I was thinking the same thing. What the EU tried to pull would be the same as Russia claiming that they are only in Cuba as peacekeepers.
This is what STARTED the whole damn mess.
As paranoid as Putin and the Russians are, they don’t want the US and Euro troops (”peacekeepers”, yuk yuk) and weapons at their front door. WHAT is so HARD about this?
And all to protect a country that has never been anything but a corrupt cesspool since the Soviet Union collapsed and cut them loose?

The Russian position is analagous to the American Monroe/Polk doctrine.
Any presence in Ukraine by anyone other than Russia is what ‘Starts the whole damn mess’ with Russia.
Russia is a corrupt, feudal dictatorship. Anyone else’s presence in their claimed territory is a threat to control over ‘their ppl’.
If we cave to Russia and fail to post peace-keepers in Ukraine, then Putin will interpret that as both weakness (on our part) and affirmation of what he’s done to Ukraine. He’ll then have no second thoughts about other mini-conquests... Georgia, the Baltic states, perhaps Poland.
IOW, when bad behavior goes unopposed, you get more bad behavior.
Yep, the cold war is long over. Past time for the US to leave NATO. The Europeans can handle their own defense. Hopefully they will resist starting yet another world war.
Russian troops in any capacity in Ukraine represent a threat to the European Union.
I just have one question, since the creation of the UN, what the hell has it served for?
“Maybe we need to do away with Nato.”
If the Euroweenies keep it up, maybe Russia will do away with NATO. I hope it never comes to that, as the only way Russia can do it would be with nukes. Then we have WWIII.
