Authorities in South Carolina say a mother is in custody in connection with the horrific death of a newborn baby.
Last Friday, the Easley Police Department said it received a 911 call about a medical emergency for a woman who had recently given birth at an apartment complex.
Police and Pickens County EMS responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m.
Officers said they found a newborn baby boy with serious injuries. Medical personnel declared him dead at the scene.
“I’ve been doing this for two and a half decades, and I have never seen anything this gruesome,” Easley Police Chief Brandon Liner said. “I’ve never seen anything this bad.”
The baby boy’s official cause and manner of death have not yet been released, but Liner said he was murdered by his mother, identified as An T Ngo.
The boy’s mother has been charged with homicide by child abuse.
Authorities said that while birthing the baby, she repeatedly stabbed him with a long metal letter opener. Ngo then placed her newborn in a trash bag and put the bag in a different room.
“It was very apparent that Miss Ngo is the one who tragically murdered this child,” Liner said.
Ngo was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, officers said. She is expected to face a bond court judge on Tuesday afternoon.
“We will speak for this baby,” Liner said. “We will make sure that this baby will receive justice. It didn’t have a chance at life. Not long.”
Liner said the case has been very hard on investigators
But because she waited until it was immediately born she's charged with murder.

This is why “abortion” is a gross euphemism. You abort a mission, not a life. It’s murder! To kill an innocent person is only one thing- murder. Whether he’s 3 months into gestation or 3 months from his impending death, it is murder.

If society repeatedly drums into the heads of people that the unborn child is not a human and you can simply “terminate” it, it is any wonder that they would begin to think nothing of “terminating” it seconds after it is born? And anytime after that?
By a 220-210 margin, the House of Representatives passed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, with only one Democrat voting in favor. So, with only one exception these Democrat legislators established a line for defense of abortion within their party that included those born alive despite attempted abortion.
According to the logic for voting against the bill, an infant emerging from an abortion procedure, unlike those babies residing in intensive care units, is considered medical waste, and not a fully human person. The medical personnel in attendance are not only absolved from any criticism in failing to provide care but instead must intervene to kill the baby. Read the bill and see if that is not the most reasonable interpretation.
