Method to Trump’s madness after all? Again?
Again!
So
Much
WINNING
Welcome are danish and Inuit brethren
Welcome OUR
danish and Inuit brethren
The democrats in Greenland want to join the democrats in the US ,LOL
“The cold coast of Greenland
Is barren and bare
No seed time nor harvest
Is ever known there
And the birds here sing sweetly
In mountain and dale
But there’s no bird in Greenland
To sing to the whale
There is no habitation
For a man to live there
And the king of that country
Is the fierce Greenland bear
And there’ll be no temptation
To tarry long there
With our ship under full
We will homeward repair”
George Scroggie, circa 1850
Note that this isn't the "pro-USA" Naleraq party that people were claiming won yesterday. These "democrats" are more Euro leaning, and want to continue a slow process toward eventual independence. They have been one of the more anti-Trump parties. How they govern really depends on what party they choose to ally with to form a government. If it's Naleraq, they might soften their position on aligning with the US.
Hearts and minds are step one.
Greenland is quickly figuring this out. They will benefit much more from ties with America than pipsqueak Denmark. Greenland is not connected with NATO, by the way.
Yes. Welcome are they.
>Greenland is not connected with NATO, by the way.
How does that work?
Aren’t they a possession of Denmark, which is a NATO member?
How so?
I believe this is movement towards the right vs a continuation of the status quo. First movement in that direction in 50 years. Makes it more likely that Greenland can negotiate on their own. I think.
Wrong. All the parties were pro-separation. The winning party was the most gradualist.
Well. I said. I think. We will have to see.
Well, no.
The winning party in Greenland made it clear that it wants to be part of neither Denmark nor the U.S.
Independence. Not a takeover by America.
Greenlanders say no to Trump as rare earths loom over coalition talks .
