Federal workers at the U.S. Department of Education received an email on Tuesday instructing them to vacate their offices no later than 6:00PM and that the department’s offices will remain closed on Wednesday as well. The directive states the closure is for “security reasons.”
“Beginning today at 6:00 p.m., all ED offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) will be closed for security reasons. Employees must vacate the building by that time,” the email states, adding: “All ED offices in the NCR and the regions will be closed to employees and contractor employees on Wednesday, March 12th.”<
The directive goes on to note that “employees with approved telework agreements may work from home on Wednesday, March 12th. Please take your laptop with you when departing the office on Tuesday, March 11th.”
Additionally, the email states that Education Department offices will reopen to employees on Thursday. No additional details have been given on why the closure was ordered.
This story is developing.
Excellent. Time to get the damn government out of programming and brainwashing our kids.
Excellent.
The public schools failed decades ago and the DOE has wasted close to a trillion dollars with no positive effect.
Total overhaul and revamping with choice and accountability is the only way to improve.
A lot of stupid leftist women are going to cry.
ED is protecting data that employees could delete from thier office computers.
Email from whom?
I suspect you’re right. The intention to sabotage must be high among these people.
Nelson Muntz, please pick up the white courtesy phone!
Being empty, will anyone notice the difference?
Vacate by 6pm? The employees left well before that. it would be surprising if any of them were there past 3pm.
They need to give them the proper notice and then fire them all.
And that's for the 20% of the massive workforce that goes to the office, 80% stay home and "work".
Janitors would normally remain after other employees leave to clean the Johns and polish floors.
Yes, EXCELLENT.
Do they come to work at all?
“””Do they come to work at all?””
How could you tell???
This reminds me of when FR demanded all FAB members change their screen names.
closing for a day without notice is pretty interesting, My first thought is to add surveillance and to safeguard dats. One day is not much time. It is good sign. I think they are prepping to reduce the size of the DOE as much as they can without congress.
